Some coverage of the HSR races this past weekend:
Some of my RX-7. I ran it in the STARS series, which is a new series that's sort of like time trials. This was the first weekend it was actually ran, think bracket racing on a road course. You get four sessions over the weekend, your first three are to set a fast time, then in your last (4th) session you try to get as close to it as possible. The catch is you aren't allowed to time yourself or see time sheets, so it's all mental. It's a lot of fun and means you can win whether you're in a F1 car or an old Mini. It's all driver. If you're looking for seat time in a competitive atmosphere but without the wheel to wheel risks, this is a great place to run. Very affordable! Check out HSR Home for more info and upcoming events.
I originally entered to get some seat time and get a feel for what the car needs, but quickly saw how much fun it was, so not only got my seat time and really learned about the car, but got into the mental game as well. I won, but there were only two cars entered so...lol. I was .7** off my fast lap in the end.
