    Default New commuter

The Trans Am is finally showing its age and sprouting multiple fluid leaks, so I figured it was time to set that one aside as the fun/track car and get something new for running around town. Just picked this up, brand new. Was originally looking at a new Genesis coupe, but got this for several thousand less. Future mods are wheels, fog lights, lower just a smidgen (not slamming it, that's not my thing), and window tint. Sorry for the crappy pics, taken in a hurry with my cell.

The sticker said 21/28, so I expect to get slightly less than that. Big improvement over what I was getting lol. I don't have a long commute either, so I don't really care if it isn't 30 or higher. Plus, I don't have to use premium in this one like I have been.

Yes it is. They wanted 7k more for the hemi, Too much of a price jump just for a DD.

Yeah it is pretty fun. Rear wheel drive, 305hp, and gas mileage comparable to my wife's G6 GT... possibly better.

I agree. The Genesis is a nice looking car, but doesn't have the same intimidating presence. I'm considering bringing this one down to the next Varsity meet instead of the Trans Am, just for something different.

No I don't think you should feel like less of an American, it's all just personal preference. Despite the higher price tag, I did test drive the Genesis as well, both with and without the wife along for the ride. We both liked the feel and looks of the Challenger better, not to mention it is roomier due to the larger size. Lower price also helped. Considering this will not be a track car or be used in any sort of mountain runs with twisties, it wasn't a difficult decision after the test drives.
