Forged Performance: FP700R Track Day Edition GT-R
Last month Sharif visited the highly acclaimed Virginia International Raceway for the CHIN Motorsports HPDE event. He planned on wheeling the Forged Performance GT3 and he also brought Paul, who is a long time customer and friend of ours. Paul is the owner of a white R35 GT-R that we have modified with the intent of participating HPDE track events. Once arriving in the paddock, Sharif and Paul both noticed a beautiful red R35 GT-R in 100% OEM trim. After the morning rituals of pre-track inspections and drivers meetings, Paul made his way on course and realized that his GT-R brethren had been assigned the same run group as him. After a handful of warm up laps, Paul slowly started to push his GT-R a little harder and it became very clear that the stock red GT-R just could not keep pace. Paul was constantly out braking, pulling in the straights and cornering harder. Soon the owner of the red GT-R, Calvin, found Paul and introduced himself and inquired about the set-up on the white GT-R. While Paul's set-up is extremely effective, it is a daily driven street car that very quick on track thanks to a properly dialed in combination of parts. Calvin was soon introduced to Sharif after expressing a desire to upgrade his GT-R to allow it have more on track potential for the many days he has planned to spend at VIR this season.
A week later Calvin's car hit the Forged Performance property and a plan was put in place to assure his GT-R would return to him more than capable of running down the most elite supercars at any given track day. Our many years of experience tracking the GT-R has allowed us to nail down a solid strategy for turning an already impressive stock GT-R into something that almost defies the laws of physics on a circuit course in the right hands. While Calvin's GT-R was about to go under the knife for an impressive round of modifications, we assured him that the car would still be more than passable for those Sunday afternoon cruises on the street. Our plan was to make his car a fast street car on the track, not a full blown racecar (at least not yet haha!). Our proven synthesis of aftermarket performance parts and in-house track set-up by our highly experienced specialists is guaranteed to allow Calvin to drive his car harder with more confidence and control. While this GT-R came to us just like it left the dealership floor, it returned to Calvin this morning making an additional 142whp over stock and with the following upgrades:
