Default Goin' old school on 'em.

Got rid of the 240 for my first bike. It's a '97 gsxr750 SRAD. It was pretty beat when I got it (been sitting outside uncovered for over a year) but with a little work she's shining again. Has a pretty much rebuilt top end. Only mods are a full Yoshi system, and some type of lowering links.

Probably just going to lower it some more and get a stretch kit for it.

Thanks man. I feel that it's a good starter bike for a person who understands their limits... Not too fast but not slow enough to where I'll be pissed a month from now. lol

My first ever ride on a bike was a 600. My second ever was a 1300 Busa. It's all in what you feel comfortable on.

    Love the bike man.

I love how people post shit up on public forums and expect to not hear the opinions of others. Lowering bikes looks cool but it just doesn't make sense to me. It does look nice though.

Too low. Not because of looks, but because of the functionality of the suspension. Even as a drag use only, there is no use in dropping it that low. You need the suspension setup, and an extended swingarm to really see the benefits of dropping down all the way.
My suggestion is that you raise it up a couple of inches, and buy a real extended swingarm, that will allow you to fit a slightly wider tire, and working with the rear shock to get it to dampen the right amount.
If you don't do these things, then you actually take a big step backwards on how the bike performs.

if he likes it that low, what's the big deal? whose to say he's trying to race it or take it on mountain runs?

Nice as hell but practicality is out the window. Very cool looking older bike.
