    Default Forged Performance: 705whp HKS GT800 GT-R

We recently had the pleasure to work on another exciting GT-R project. Although this GT-R previously made very good numbers, the owner decided it was time for the next step. For this round, a set of HKS GT800 turbos, larger intakes, FMIC, and intercooler piping were added to the current list of power adders. After a few quick days of installation, it was time for Sharif to work his magic. The end result was 705 whp on E85 on our Dyno Dynamics. These are the highest numbers we have recorded on the factory internals on a GT-R. This customer's goals were a bit more aggressive than what we usually see, so it was pushed a little further. As you can see the torque is still kept to a nice, safe level. We are currently at the limits of the ID1000cc injectors and twin Deatschwerks 300 pumps, so we will be installing a complete fuel system, new rails, and larger injectors this week to accommodate the E85. Before anyone asks, a built motor and transmission are in the very near future. The modification list and pictures are below.

    • HKS GT800 Turbo Kit
    • HKS Resonated Midpipe
    • HKS M45 Spark Plugs
    • HKS SSQV BOV's (with purple inserts)
    • GTC 102mm Catback Exhaust
    • AMS Alpha Induction Kit
    • AMS FMIC Kit
    • Deatschwerks 300lph fuel pumps
    • ID1000cc Injectors
    • Cobb AP
    • Forged Performance Custom ECU Calibration

It is fine, this question is asked very often.

Like most shops that use unlinked dyno rollers, we ran the car in 2wd mode in order to preseve the front drive clutches. Just to go a little more in depth, the front drive clutches are perfectly happy driving the front wheels as long as the front and rear rollers are working and locked together, just like they would work on a public road. On an un-linked dyno system such as the Dyno Dynamics, or DynoJet, running the car in 4WD mode means the front drive system is spinning up the front roller without help from the rear. This would be like standing the car on it's nose and accelerating it down the street. AMS, Shep, and pretty much all the tuners agree on this. We are working on a custom modification to our dyno, where we will link the rollers together. For extended tuning sessions, it's simply a lower risk approach to disable the front drive. This would make our life much easier as R/R'ing front shaft gets old. Keep in mind, we only do this on builds that approach 700whp and beyond. For stock turbo setups we feel the risks are minimal and continue using the dyno in 4WD mode.

I forget the exact details, but he said in a earlier post that they disengage the front diff or axles before the dyno run. I'm sure he'll give you specific answer once he sees your question.

Will work for food, car parts, or three stripe apparel. And not necessarily in that oder.

It is to keep the front diff from overheating

So the whole front drivetrain drops out of the chassis, how long does it take to remove a GTR drivetrain like that? How many bolts are holding 800HP to the frame??

It's actually not as bad as you think. Just as long as you have a good lift and hydraulic table.
