    Default Sneak Peek - RX-5.7

Getting tuned this weekend, then will be out of the road. This is one of r71's toys.
Everything has been redone from scratch - metal wide-body also.

If it just wasn't orange I'd love it.

    He likes bright colors.
He painted my FD a Ferrari Yellow.
His lifted 4x4 is BMW Laguna Seca Blue - with yellow accents.
His last FD body was that same blue, with the oil system orange, suspension parts were green, fuel parts were red, etc.
I learned long ago just to let him do whatever colors he feels like. He kept my Mustang black luckily.

I don't know why, maybe it's just the angle of the pics, but the "stance" of this car just looks "off" for some reason. Not saying it needs to be slammed/stretched/poked and what not... but it with the ride height/wheel/tire setup in conjunction with the widebody looks like it has positive camber or something.

    Or maybe I'm just drunk.

I really want to like this car.

I love FDs and I love FDs with an LS under the hood (partly because a lot of people get their panties in a wad about it). But, while I do respect the work that's gone into the body, I'm just not really digging the look. The stock lines are so gorgeous on these cars, and this particular widebody just changes them a bit too much IMHO.

That being said, I bet it's a blast to drive, and maybe it's just one of those cars I'd have to see in person to truly appreciate.

This car is functional first and foremost - not for "stance" or looks. Most of the people on here wouldn't understand that though. The wheels and tires are wide enough that it actually needs the widebody to cover them.

Glass just went in. Even the windshield came out and was redone for the build (yes, he took pics of the whole build). It will probably get tint in a could of weeks when it is finished. Still getting work done to it.

That is r71, the owner, that was driving it. It's his car, not mine. He owns a gym right around the corner from Gran Turismo.

It is both. It will see the track, but what good is a track-only car? It probably won't be daily driven, as he has several toys already.

I just can't feel the widebody. Love the color and everything else. It just looks a little bloated...like it has lost it's sleekness. I think it's that the front and rear wheel areas stick out so much and the rocker panels are now looking sunken in...and throwing off the balance, it needs something to smooth the flow.

    So much better, thank you!!

I can't stand when people add anything which distort the body lines.. Adding is ok, yes, but make it all flow together!!

Oh my bad man... I totally forgot the word "stance" only refers to the low-offset "hella-flush" crowd and in no way can ever be used to describe the way a car's wheels and tires are set up in conjunction to the wheel well and body lines, regardless of what the car was built for. My sincerest apologies and my god have mercy on my soul for horribly misusing such an important technical term here in the high performance automotive enthusiast universe.
