You'd be right if we were talking in relation to people on IA. But the cars I like aren't exactly "IA caliber" cars. My tastes in cars are certainly not unknown, not prominent and not misunderstood. They have their own following just like Civics and 240s have their own. The Civics and 240s, though, are popular mostly because of Fast and Furious and because they are newer and not as costly to buy, operate and keep operating. Later, QD.

famous words of the anti-conformist conformist. I dont like or DISLIKE a car because it did or did not appear in a movie. I dont think you can honestly say the same. Cars in movies is nothing new....... fast and furious didnt start the trend of big screen auto advertising. Previous movies were equally as successful at their agenda of presenting a car to the masses. Also note that Fast and Furious was a movie about the EXISTING world of street racing.... it didnt start it.

I think you misunderstood his statement. I perceived it as something to the effect of "the cars he likes are only 'obscure' to IA's population, which takes a liking to civics and 240s, due F&F movies. Not that he likes cars b/c of movies." I'm assuming somewhere out there there's a forum full of QD's that scoff at a set of gold rotas, HID's, polyurethane lip kits and flash futuristic curves, but adores the harsh boxy lines of the automotive culture pre 90s and there we'd probably all get flamed, lol

Here it is right here, Sinfix. I think you're trying too hard to disagree with me so you can be the one to label me. Genji has had it on point the entire time, dude. Later, QD.

I'm not trying to disagree with you, i simply just do disagree with you. Fast and Furious came out in 2001 and opened in theaters outside of Atlanta. People on IA "take a liking" to the same cars everyone else on the planet is. Just so happens that not too many people are that excited about taking a run of the mill economy car from the 70-80s and restoring it to look like the cover of a Haynes manual.

^^^Lol, i completely agree with you EA civics are freakin ugly and there's barely an EF i'll take a second look at, but i think that fact that you disagree with QD's automotive taste (as do i, in most cases) only confirms his previous post:

Saying you disagree with his taste in cars is no more common/appropriate than saying you disagree with his (or any other person's) taste in women (or men if that's your thing, lol)

Again, Genji nails it. On IA, you're probably right. In the actual world, you're not quite so right.

Again, you're trying too hard to label me and make me look wrong when opinions are neither right nor wrong. I wouldn't try to persuade you to like my car, so why try to make me like yours? Later, QD.

Was this a witty way at saying QD's taste in cars is contradictory??? b/c i was referring to the fact that a car can't be obscure and have a cult following
