Haha. Yeah I would be over there but I'm in Gwinnett right now. Dustin said he was gonna hit me up when they were going so I could meet them and ride with but he didn't.

Preciate it. Yeah the shorty antenna is definitely on the list, just haven't gotten around to it yet, but will hopefully get some motivation to do it in the near future.

Lol cut westernlude some slack.. He must drive a prelude SH and think all preludes can take the curvy roads lol

I'm not a mustang fan.. Especially that body style.. And I love the jdm front on integras.. I don't like the wing at all though..

I gotta go with the mustang though.. It's just super clean

Last time I looked, nobody had a Spec Integra/Prelude class in racing.

They do have a Spec Miata though...

Just something to consider next time you're in the "twisties".

    is that a.........
In 1965 Mustangs won 5 of the 6 SCCA division championships in action.
A Mustang won its first road car championship in 1970.
A Mustang was the first domestic car ever to win the showroom stock championship in SCCA.
1986 a Mustang won the GT endurance championship.
1987 a Mustang won the 24 hour Daytona race.
1989 a Mustang won the Trans-AM championship with a rookie driver.
1997 a Mustang won 11 consecutive races to win the Trans-AM championship.

Ford Mustang history falls off a bit here because of Steeda.... Ford doesnt like to claim Steeda's victories since Steeda has more racing championships than Ford/SVT/Roush/Saleen/Shelby combined.

I could make a list of the championships Steeda Autosports Mustangs have won in their last 23 years of racing.... but it would be much easier to tell you what they DIDNT win.

    a grammy... about it.

I could put the Preludes racing heritage on a post it note.

Cool story Bro. :good job: Let me preface by saying that I do enjoy some healthy debate, and do not mean to be confrontational at all. I was talking more about street than about racing(as I thought was implied…after all, this is not the racing section of the forum) Racing has more to do with the overall ability of teams to put the cars together, and less to do with the cars themselves. While I'm not completely sure of the rules to either the Trans-Am or GT Endurance, I do know they have to be pretty close to stock, but in racing thats has a completely different meaning that "stock" cars on the street. Yeah, there were some excellent teams running those mustangs, and they did a pretty darn good job with that. But I was referring to the street abilities of the vehicle. First I will give credit where Credit is due. The 2011 Mustang beat the 370z in a handling test recently done by Car and Driver. They are definitely getting more nimble by the generation, and for that I commend them. But, as long as we're talking about statistics, the Prelude made Car and Driver's 10best list in 1994, and 1998. The biggest thing they raved about? Handling. Here, read the story yourself. http://www.caranddriver.com/features...prelude-page-8. I could mention the weight ratio between the Prelude and Mustang, but I won't delve into that. However, I was talking pure opinion, and while I like mustangs and the power they have, I personally am an import guy. Oh, and to the "there's no Spec Integra/Prelude class" comment, I myself do not know why Honda is not involved in these races(at least right now). There was a time, I know, that Honda was involved in SCCA, and I do believe that's it for major racing series that they were involved in Perhaps it is because racing takes a huge chunk of change, even from big companies like Ford, Chevy, and Honda. There is one series where I saw an RSX-bodied car on an American circuit, but I didn't watch enough of the series to tell how they were doing. So, I'm not really trying to offend anybody. Im merely stating an opinion that I have based on facts. I shall leave you with some pictures.

    Have a good day!

Comparing Preludes to Mustangs on the street, track, parking lots, gravel, dirt roads, a slip in slide, a mud bog or any other place a motor vehicle can possibly go is about like comparing superbowl history between the Greenbay Packers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Prelude is a nice car.... i like them, i'm not insulting you or your prelude or anyone else's prelude........ but there's simply no comparing a prelude to a mustang. a stock cobra would chew up a prelude and spit it out on any road any where any time. You're arguing street.....??? mustangs own the street....... when you go driving do you have blinders on? This is Georgia...........

aw man... We were buddies. But...

I'm not an imports only man. But stock to stock (mustang to prelude) prelude wins hands down. Even dollar for dollar with modifications, 9 times out of 10, the prelude will be an all around better car. With my stock single cam (original engine from the factory in my car) with a turbo, BTM and injector controller, I out ran an '03 GT with a twin screw. From a dig, from a 40 roll, through turns, in the straight. And I had about $2000 less in my mods than the mustang owner.

I'm not saying mustangs are bad cars, I mean come on, they sound so bad ass! And they can be great handling/performing cars. But not for the same amount of money. So please don't say that mustangs "own the street" like no one can touch them.

Disclaimer: I'm not arguing cobras/svts/gt500s etc. Those aren't stock mustangs.

This is Georgia, and Mustangs may be better for the straight out driving that's around here. But up in the curvy mountain roads of Western North Carolina, its a completely different story. Another thing to consider is that the Mustang has heritage, and was developed way before the first Prelude. So, in my opinion, a car thats that old better be a darn good car. And I'm not bashing Mustangs at all..they're very nice cars and good cars for certain people. BUT, I would not have one. Plain and simple. I've driven many cars, including a mustang, and the lude's handling has yet to be beat(imho).

I agree wholeheartedly. I thought he was trying to compare cobras and such to the Prelude. Stock to stock, Prelude is just a better car.

Cobras, Shelbys, Roush, Steeda and Saleens are Mustangs too....... The best Prelude that leaves the Honda factory pulls .8s on the skid pad. The SVT Contour can do that...... and its a notorious piece of junk. The Steeda Q500 is an 11 second car that pulls 1.2 gs on the skid pad. Every factory Mustang above the GT pulls 1g+ on the skid pad.........

Comparing Preludes to Mustangs is bringing a knife to a gun fight...........

So we're comparing Preludes to Mustang GTs and pretending no other factory Mustangs exist? Just gonna close our eyes, touch our heels together and pretend all of those other Prelude ass ripping vehicles arent sitting on lots all over the united states?

You still got that turbo Prelude? Care to get drug by an old foxbody? Doesn't matter if it's drag, mtns, or track. I'll say it now - that other Mustang driver couldn't drive.

Oh I did notice those porsche's behind the mustang….but that's obviously a very good team drawing in good money. I also NOTICED that the mustang is only mentioned a few times in the winner's chart…It's mainly Porsches, Corvettes, heck you even got beat by Jaguar. Here's what I notice. All you're doing is providing your opinion, rather than facts. Oh, and we're not talking about those Mustangs because we're talking about a specific category of car, probably around the 20-30K coupe. The Cobras, Shelbys, Roush, Steeda and Saleens are much more expensive(especially the Saleens). Oh, and to the "Invest 10k in a mustang…." comment, I can almost guarantee you that your prized Steeda mustangs have a good bit more than that put into them. All this is being said by a guy who has a 240. Contradict yourself much? I need say no more than the quote posted by your good friend Cramer.

I'd still rather have a prelude though, but i'm pretty sure its because i have this opinion that everything ford makes is garbage so I'm a little bias.

if it was a corvette or newer camaro, i'd pick those WAYYYYY before I picked another honda.

See my post in your thread for a response. Btw, I can't see any of the pictures anymore(of the original post). Is there a reason for this?

I'll run 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, or lap times around Road Atlanta against your Prelude (or any Prelude on IA). When do you want to get them out to the track?

Cool story bro. Tell it again backwards. But seriously, I don't race because I daily drive my car and don't have 2 other means of transportation, and I want my car to last. I would love to run Road Atlanta once to see how I would do, though.

Damn this thread took off in a direction I did not expect. It was just supposed to be a friendly game between me and my cousin to see who's car people liked better. Not whether Hondas are faster than Mustangs LoL...

Glad to see people appreciate the Stang though, he's put a lot of work into it.

My fault, really. I made some comment that was made to be made in a joking manner, and people ran with it. Both are great looking cars tho. I wish I had been able to see them longer.
