    Default New Stock CRX

Whats up everyone. I am new to the "honda scene" but just picked me up a CRX the other day.. I figured I'd take some pics and post them up for everyone.. No major plans for it as of yet. Comments and Criticisms welcomed alike!
    Thanks

I'm with all these other fools (except Echonova).

It's rare to find a car like that, and it will be more appreciated the way it is rather than all tricked out. If your plans were to modify it in the future - you bought the wrong CRX.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I'm very happy with this CRX (my first Honda). Advice from a friend got me looking at CRX's (thanks six7teen). I've been reading and doing research for the last six months or so, waiting for the right one to come along. These things sell so fast! I jumped on this one when I saw it. I posted this in my intro thread but forgot to mention it here -- This CRX isn't completely stock. The PO put in a d16z6 (OBD1 MPFI conversion), so it's not the original engine (only 162k on the body though!). I know engine swaps are a really common thing on these cars, and this particular swap seems like a good option, but let me know what you guys think about it. Here's some pictures:

    MY PLANS:
Right now? Not a whole lot. Basically I'm just going to take my time getting to know the car. I need to double check everything the PO did for my own peace of mind (still sifting through a shoebox full of receipts). I want to figure out what was stock and what's not. It looks good and runs well. I need to clean up some cosmetic flaws -- a few dents, the rip on the front seat and bolster, the cargo divider is in two pieces, touch up some paint, wash it, etc. Those are the important first steps. So no mods in the immediate future. Just cleaning and getting to know the CRX.

I did have a few ideas, but I'm still doing some research. I want to keep it mostly stock (loving the interior). Rear disc brakes would be nice (not because I'm looking for extra braking power, but just for looks and ease of maintenance). I want to replace that curvy ebay intake and maybe move the filter back up into the engine bay and away from the street (I haven't looked it over too closely yet but I worry about it sucking up water). I might swap out the wheels for something that'll show off the discs and calipers a little better. Maybe not. I kind of like the SI wheels. But this all subject to change. Lots of searching and reading to do first. Comments? Concerns? I'm glad for any feedback.

if you're worried about water getting in the intake, I've got an AEM water bypass. it would replace that coupler between the "short ram" and "cold air" sections. Keeps water out. It's a little beat up, but still works. I pass through lagrange every now and then on my way home if you want it. $10.

I use to run the same cold air intake (on my CRX) for 5+ years and never had a problem with it sucking in water so I wouldn't worry.

I saw an SI model like this one, same color and all....completely stock. An older guy drove it, and I tried my best to get him to sell, but he will not let it go. Yours is super clean though, I like it.

I had never seen one of those before. Interesting. Thanks for the offer. I'm going to stick with the setup I've got for now (as if tuition for college is giving me any other choice). But when Christmas comes around I may take you up on that. haha. Thanks though.

Loving the pics & thread! Don't go swapping to rear discs too fast, those shoes & wheel cylinders are brand new! You forgot a few not-too-noticable upgrades but I'll leave those up to you to mention.

Hope it stays running great for you. PM me if you have any questions or can't find something in that shoebox.

Thanks man! Should have known that you'd be on IA. I'm loving the CRX. And don't worry, I'm not too hurried to jump on any projects yet since everything's so recently done. Those were just thoughts for the distant future. I'm just going to drive it and enjoy it for now. And I know I didn't mention EVERYTHING that's been done or upgraded. I just wanted to mention the basics on this thread. Don't worry though, cause I haven't forgotten. I know everything that's there.

Haha I could say the same thing, if Honda made a Y49 Barbados yellow CR-Z without out the electric engine. I'd buy one in a heart beat
