Default Xerxes and Genghis (e30 cabrio & widebody eclipse content......)

.. well.. ill skip all the detailed formalities and give you the basic info.. my name is Kourtstin people call me "K".. im from Alabama, repping LOYALTY Crew.. and here are the cars ive been workin on.. Xerxes (87 35ic) and Genghis (97 GS-T).. ive hit up a few forums with the progress.. figured id post on here..hope you enjoy

starting off.. i found xerxes in the back yard, covered with grass clippings, dirt, and all .. but i seen potential.. genghis i have been workin on for years (one of those i want to build a car this way.. then you scrap that whole plan type deals) SORRY FOR PIC SIZES...

next thing was wheels for Xerxes... and after arguing with the guy from Axis about wheel fitment for a couple days.. i ordered the Axis Widetracks (18x8 et 20 front / 18x9 et20 rear) with (225/35 front / 235/35 rear) bfg rubber...

    front lip 3.5"

    rear lip 4.75"

and i like em (despite how people say e30s need 16s only)

as you can tell by the pics.. i lowered it with springs, smoked the headlights, blacked the grill out, cross drilled rotors and so forth.. BUT then i ran the urge to drop it more hit me (which id like to thank all of YOU for!!) .. so i orderd tires with more of a stretch (215/35 front / 225/35 rear), jom coilovers, new front end ish, camber kits, .. etc.. to get the job done..

will post pics when everything is installed... looking at gettin the m-tech 2 kit, turboing the engine (maybe a stroker kit as well), cause im gonna need the extra hp to pull this...

a trailer (http://www.trpcycleservice.com) built to match my car and bike..

now on to Genghis.. which may not be some of you's thing.. but hey.. to each they own.. i think the main problem with genghis was the lack of respect i was gettin for choosing an eclipse as a build car.. i guess until i had something to prove to some folks.. goin from a GT500 theme to a 'what if i remade this ish, how would i make it better" deal... so first thing i did was step up the wheel game..

    these are (20x9.5 et 8 front / 20x11 et -8 rear) 3 piece status.. thanks D2 Forged!!
the fronts have a 3.75" lip

while the rears have a 6" lip

to me they change the look of the car.. as well as changing the lights to fit BACK to the eclipse lights.. not gonna have supra lights in the back when its NOT a supra.. cmon folks.. lol

one pet peeve of mine is when a car like this is built with all show and u look under the hood and theres a stock motor.. so i decided to turn to the performance aspect of the car.. since those are 20s.. 3000gt Vr4 calipers (yes they fit..) with cross drilled rotors front and rear (12" and 11.5" respectively).. ordered (preview of how they look behind the wheels)

a stroker kit (2.3), 3" GM MAF, 880cc injector clinic injectors, coil on plug ignition, balance shaft removal kit, t3/t4 .57 trim turbo (break-in turbo until i get the one i want), stage 3 clutch, obx ramhorn manifold, full 3' exhaust (downpipe back), a big precision intercooler (for supras)w/ 2.5" piping, Turbo XS RFL BOV, and etc. parts were ordered from CI Motorsports (http://www.cimotorsports.net) and are being test fitted and installed as we speak..
(check the valve cover homie.. lol)

they are both in their respected garages.. gettin work done.. while i am currently deployed.. but i will keep pics posted.. hope yall like..

Those "too big" wheels and the "smoked out" headlights are the only thing keeping that BMW from being top notch. And I reserve all comments on the Eclipse until it is better suited for judgment. I can say, so far, it doesn't look like (to me) that it going to look good. Love that body style Eclipse and surely love that style wheel. But damn, 20's? No need at all for that. That's 4 or 5" bigger than necessary.

That e30 would be sooo clean if you'd undo the tint on the headlights, i mean but still . The eclipse is interesting never seen a WB one before so i'm eager to see how that's gonna turn out, it's looking good so far and nice bike

The E30 would be so much better with smaller wheels and more of a drop, but otherwise it's clean.

^ Supra taillight conversion is common on eclipses-eclipsi? eclipseses? anyways...

I'd like to see a bumper tuck on the e30, and i actually dont mind the wheels and tint. Just needs more of a drop in the rear.
The eclipse is going to be nice without the supra rear. I think it'd be kinda nice to leave some sort of body kit, just so when someone pulls up and thinks they are going to walk the ricer, you destroy em with that built motor. That's as long as the 20's dont slow you down.

Xerxes is gonna get dropped more.. the reason i am puttin more of a stretch on the tires.. on the e30tech forum most of the cars sit between 21 - 23 inches from the ground (thats from the ground to the top of the fender arch).. mine "hopefully" will sit around 21.5.. a 16 inch wheel with a 40 or 45 series tire is not that much smaller than certain 18s with a 35 series tire..

    http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp
now most people run a 205/45 r16 on their e30s.. and i will have a 215/35 r18 on mine... if you plug both in.. it will show you that im only .6 inches taller than what they are.. anything really lower than 21" on an e30 is OK.. but i dont feel like damaging an oil pan or making driving it less fun daily.. i dont like thick sidewalls anyway.. and we all are tryin to do the same thing tuck as much tire into the fender well as possible.. im just kinda "cheating" a bit.. lol

Genghis is gonna go the same color as the wheels.. well kinda.. the wheels are a raw metal finish with a clear coat over them.. i forgot the exact name of the silver but its real close to the color.. they look better in person trust me.. NOOO.. that eclipse is a guy from TEAM IKON in texas.. his car currently is candy red.. when i bought that kit.. and was having it molded on.. i kinda used his as a guideline to mine.. but i didnt want to go or do the same thing that he did.. because it forces me to go out the box with creativity.. i wanted to go futher in detail with performance parts, do more to the interior, gonna do a wire tuck on it, ya know.. stuff like that... people tend to see something they like and want to copy the exact thing they see instead of goin to the next level with it..

The car just looks so disproportionate with those huge wheels on it, though. Later, QD.

.. ironically.. the 20s on Genghis dont weigh but 1.5 pounds more than those heavy 18s on Xerxes... its what im goin for.. not a light to light racer.. but something fun on highways and interstates.. eclipses are known for long gears and i DO live in alabama.. thats all we have!!! lol..

...people stick to the fact that its a "widebody" a lot... but its gonna have some bite to it.. by NO means am i one of those people who just throws a lot of parts on a car just to say do it... i measure and calculate EVERYTHING.. rpm's cruising on the highway determines what turbo size to get and spooling issues.. handling issues.. stuff like that.. ill go on forums and research every part... EVERY.. and ask people the pros and cons of each.. and take notes.. or save it on my desktop.. i have a stack of notebooks with randoms notes scratched in them..

Xerxes is gettin the mtech two kit.. i want it to look similiar like this one when its done:

and YES.. that is a bmw v8 engine in his...

and BTW.. THOSE ARE 17s hes riding on with a 215/40 tire in the front... i am running a 215/35 r18... TECHNICALLY we will be sittin at the same height.. so riding LOW with 18s is possible.. you just have to do your homework.. well his wheel tire combo is 23.8" and mine is 23.9"... and by the pics.. he is sittin the height all the way round that i want to be..

and supra tail light conversions on eclipse are dumb to me.. but thats to me.. THAT and i have two friends who have REAL supras.. and i dont want it to take away from being a widebody eclipse.. ya kno

Oh don't get me wrong, i'd much rather see eclipse lights on the back of an eclipse, but when the rest of the car is presented that well. I'm not gonna let one thing, ruin my opinion of the car. Props to doin it ur own way, not too many ppl know much about that these days

No one said anything about not getting low on 18s.

    Props to you for doing you and that's cool and all;

I actually drive an 18 wheeler for a living. And I have a car that probably can't pass it now. I give it all 70 hp of the fury it has and it can only go so fast!

And if you're not highway racing, then the unprops gets unpropped. Later, QD.

Love the E30 except the lights, the eclipse is just not my style. To each his own though do your thing.
