    Default miata build

posted up pics when i first got the car, but this will be my official build thread.

    updates as they come.

bought the car march 14th bone stock with 80k on it.

waiting on the man in brown to make his first delivery(s):
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...T#ht_500wt_956
    and

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_500wt_1182

new wheels inbound as well. but those are secret for now.

next up will be a hard dog roll bar and coilovers.

    __________________UPDATE 4/19___________________
got a set of rear mud guards, and large style side skirts and some panasport ultralite wheels wrapped in 195/60/14 falken azenis

after school ends a friend of mine is going to be making me a CF lip to even out the front with the rest of the body. cause i know somebody is gonna say something about that haha.
gotta get some hours in at work, i've got a lot more in mind including coilovers, exhaust work, intake, roll bar, and maybe some powder coating.

    Update: 5/19
    woot:

    coilovers come in tomorrow.

    Update 5/20

Got my Racelands in and put on. I'm pretty happy with them...mostly because I had low to non existent expectations for them. However they made a huge improvement in handling, but they're just temporary. Gonna be putting up the money for coilovers worth having and keeping when I can. The front needs to come down a bit, but I was tired as hell when I finished putting them on, and didn't feel like fucking with it, so when i get a chance I'll drop the front to even it out. but here's how she sits as of now.

    Update 5/27

Changed my valve cover gasket, painted the valve cover, and installed a new header.

So you're going to make the sides, and rear, lower and wider without touching the front?

My guess is front lip and susp will make a huge difference. Good platform to start with, good luck.

Id assume you have a harder time sourcing the front lip so it might be taking awhile or he is going to update the front to NBv2.

i'm debating on a front lip or NB2 conversion. that's why i haven't touched the front. i'm gonna get coilovers next and then once i have my ride height where i want it i'll decide which route i want to take. probably both. get a cheap lip while i source parts for the front end conversion.

after that i'll be getting a roll bar and maybe a hard top. depends on how funds look. like i said it's gonna be a slow process. probably will take me a month or two to scrape up the money for coilovers.

this monster truck status is KILLIN me though.

picking up the new wheels probably friday. 8lbs vs my factory 13. and getting some sways to go with the wheels

haha yeah i hear that. doesn't really bother me though. i know what i'm packin and i don't need to prove shit to anyone else. if ya got the confidence it doesn't matter what you drive.
besides i'm planning on a turbo set up. but that's gonna be a long time from now. FM turbo kits ain't cheap for a kid in college.

Look at it like inspiration as to what your car could be like instead of something it will never compare to.

some friends of mine are working on producing cf lips so i'm gonna see how those turn out. if they're good quality i'll put one of those on, if not i'll probably order an fm lip.

Have fun and take your time putting them on. Make sure to have the exact drill bits that are required. I've installed about a half-dozen sets of side skirts (large and small) and it's not bad, but it's no cake walk.
