And honestly, I think this age of mass com via forums has scewed people's preception of how common something is or isn't. I honestly haven't seen another set of these on a miata, or any other car for that matter, in person. Well I probably did at the Mitty...but I'm not gonna count that haha. Sure a shit ton of people on forums have them and theres tons of pictures, but how often do you really see any given set of wheels in real life?
I think I've seen the Chapparall's on miata's more in person than anything else.

I say rock them gold with the polished lip for a while, they look fantastic like that :goodjob: i mean you can paint them anytime. y rush
cause I don't want to pay to have my tires dismounted to paint and then pay to have them remounted again, and I definitely don't want to wait till I need new tires.
The Polished lip is staying. It'll probably get another coat of clear as I've heard they tend to fade. Gold/Bronze on green cars is WAY to common, plus I'm just not a fan of gold.
and also, I'm in athens.....I can just see it now, me coming out to my car on blocks with some thug runnin off screamin "I GOTZ ME SOME GOLD RIYUMZ YO" lol although they're only 16's...I don't know if they're big enough to warrant that hahaha

wheels were painted, but they peeled up a bit when i removed the tape, so last night I sanded and remasked them. My friend that's painting them is going to the beach for a couple weeks so unless we get them done tomorrow (which I doubt) it'll be a little while.
Got a new exhaust. 2 1/2 to 2 1/4 into a flowmaster super 44, and it exits in the center of my bumper. straight all the way through, no cat or resonator.
also picked up a powercard that I need to wire in.
nothing else major to update, got a few small things done. Window tint, 8 ball shift knob yada yada.
Finishing up painting the wheels tomorrow (well today since it's 2:10 am) after we drop the motor back into my friends nb1 (boost, water/meth, machining, pistons/rods, etc). I'm really excited about that.
Got a pair of kenwood 5 way 6x9's that I fitted into my doors. It sounds so much better now. Just need to get an amp to really bring them up to their full potential.
Hopefully will post pics of the wheels later once I get them painted and the exhaust once I add one more hanger to it so the tips sits perfectly centered in the rear bumper.
Should have monies for tires pretty soon so it shouldn't be too terribly long till the wheels are on.
Think I'll need to roll my fenders first though.

Sorry for the shitty blackberry pics. I took the SD card out of my Canon and put it in my GoPro, and now the GoPro quit working and when I try and put the SD card back into the Canon, it says it's write protected and won't let me take pictures or format the card. any tips on how to fix that so I can put up some good pictures?
Rolled my fenders last night, have tires on the way. Wheels should be on my car hopefully by friday maybe before. :D
well no love for the wheels off the car, guess I won't post pics now that they're wearing nitto's and on the car.

I would color match centers, paint the barrels black and lower it some more, but thats just me. :)
color match the centers? you mean the center caps? painting the barrels black is actually a good idea. I might have to do that.
Can't lower it any more though. speed bumps in my complex the size of mount everest. not even joking. If I have a passenger in the car I scrape at the current ride height. believe me I wish I could go a little lower, but until I'm living somewhere else, the ride height has gotta stay. unless I can convince the people in my complex to redo the speed bumps to a more sane height. I went through the grass to the side of one of the bigger ones and it's the last one before my place, and got bitched at by the management for killing the grass.
Purple wheels don't contrast the body color enough for me, and i really like green cars......as for the center exit exhaust and feaux CF eyelids, seems "civic-ish", but that may just be me. I know the mazda scene has always been a lil unconventional as far as aesthetic mods

how tall are you? I'm about 5'11'" maybe 6' and 150lbs and I fit fine. My buddy josh is a good bit bigger than me and he sat in it at the wild bills meet and he fit. might've been a little tight but he fit. I'm sure with an appropriate bucket seat you could fit fine. just gotta get a little creative haha.
But I honestly find it funny when people call me gay for driving a miata. I just laugh it off. I don't drive this car to impress anyone, I drive it because it's a blast to drive, it's pretty damn good on gas, and it's reliable. I don't spend all my money maintaining it like I did with my z32.

haha fair enough. there are guys that size with miatas. Definitely not the most comfortable thing to DD though if you're built like that.
