1991 DA project

[db1 racer]

Well the other weekend I was on my way home when so idiot pulled out in front of me and this happened...





Well after looking on criagslist I found this







It has a straight body but dent here and there and it will need a new paint job. Got it home and pulled out the dash and carpet but haven't worked on it since.



I'll be swapping most of everything from the DB over to the DA and might be doing a ls vtec or b20 vtec since I got my gsr head back from the machine shop a month ago. I'll be updating thread as progress is made!

Update: I haven't had a lot of time to work on it yet but i pulled off the bumper and driver side fender. I'm waiting to have some room on my driveway so I can start taking parts off the DB1 to swap over to the DA. The wiring on the DA has been cut up so I'm planing on taking the front half of wiring harness out of the DB1.




I don't know what the previous owner did here..it looks like he welded it up for some reason? It wasn't in a wreck or anything i checked the "carfox".




He didn't even spray primer over these welds and its rusting..


Thanks for looking everyone I'll try and keep you updated this weekend on the progress. It still needs a lot of work.

Update: I have not updated this in awhile since I'v been pretty busy with other thing's. I pulled the motor out of the 4 door and got the front suspension off. Cleaned up the motor to get most of the grease off it and made it look way better than before.






I also got the front suspension on the DA except the lower ball joint on the driver side needs to be replaced and it needs new tie rod ends.




Last weekend I picked up a ys1 transmission clutch and the cv axles.


I still have to replace various gaskets and the main seal since the motor is leaking oil. I'm also going to be ordering some motor mounts and carpet. I should have the rear suspension on the 2door by the end of the week if I get the time to work on it. Then from there I'll start the wire tuck and maybe shave the bay. Still have a lot of work ahead of me not including body work the one part I'm not looking forward to. I'll try to update every other week or so not every month.
