    Default More Jeep action

We yesterday my Jeep tried to kill me. Drivers side front brake caliper stuck and over heated. Ended up seizing in the middle of a left hand corner. I ended up running off the road and slid to a stop in some tall grass. Almost took out a fence but was able to stop it about a foot away from it.

This morning I replaced calipers, pads and rotors on both sides and the brakes feel perfect now. After fixing them I decided to go hit some trails and get her muddy.

I let my brother drive it a bit.

Found some nice rocks and decided to flex her out. This is the max flex for her. I could lift on the rear bumper and it would lift the rear tire off the ground.

Right after the last pic I decided to flex out the driver side and slid off a rock and got stuck on it. The core support was sitting right on the top and my front tires were barley touching the ground. All it would do is spin all 4 tires. Took 3 people jumping on the rear bumper to get the traction I need to get off the rock. I'm the process I bent both the steering bars up against the dif. I used a tow strap and a tree to bend them back straight.

We were on Tray Mt for 4 hours just driving around. Tons of fun

budget 4" lift, adjustable front lower control arms, and 33" 12.50 MT tires. Will soon be installing 2" spacers in the rear to get it to be 4" front and rear. The springs in the rear are sagging.

The samurai are great little off roaders but there just to small for me. I like the size of the Grand its big but can still fit into some tight places.

I took it back up Tray Mt yesterday while it was pouring down rain. It was really muddy and the stream was a raging river. I post up the pics and videos this afternoon when I get off work. O and I'll also post pics of the carnage too. I've got some welding and new HD parts to buy now.

Your Jeep sounds a lot like my ex-wife.

I really like Tray Mt. It was pouring rain all night and most of the day yesterday so I thought it would be fun to hit the trails again. Sorry some of the pics are blury it was windy and raining in the valley and was kind of cold.
Nothing like clean rims and axles.

Then went up and found these nice hills.

Video 1 (click the pic below)

Video 2 (click the pic below)

Then had some issues with my T-case in this nice mud hole.

Then while checking out the front diff I noticed my tie rod was bent again and my driver side lower control arm mount was broke. I have no idea how that happened. The tie rod was bend on a rock from my last ride and I bent it straight but I guess its now weakened so I'm going got buy a HD one soon.

Its a blast. Theres nothing like spending 4+ hours driving over a mountain. Plus driving back threw Helen is awesome when your truck is covered in mud and all the little kids are pointing and waving. I'm hoping to get a 98 Grand in a few weeks and I'm going to start building it also. Plus my little brother just bought a 76 VW rail buggy so I'll have some cool pics of it soon. It should be really fun driving that thing up Tray Mt.
