And just sayin, during the time of the 1st gen neon the ACR was far superior to any Civic model and just as reliable. It's amazing how cheap you can get these things for how long they last.

The NOPI era you're referring to, I assume, is the late '90's into the 2000's, yes? Those aren't years to brag about, lolol. And Honda couldn't have been reborn if it never died.

I don't know about a Honda being easier to work on. My Neon was a cinch to work on. And it lasted me 10 years (racing SCCA and all) so it was quite the reliable mode of transportation.
