This trend is like body kit in 90s and exterior conversion in early 2000. If it's a trend, it will eventually go out of style someday. It may look good for now, but who knows what people will think 5 years from now. At least real functional mods will never go out of style. Personally I don't think extremely lowered car looks bad at all, I just don't like the lose of performance associate with it.

    quote from the article

"I don't know what it is about negative camber. It definitely screams 'loss of performance'. But at the same time a VIP car, drift car or bosozoku style car is nothing without it. Somehow extremely lowered cars with extreme camber trigger a natural attraction in males, much like the mammary glands of opposite sex."

its not about performance, you have setups that are adjustable and can run crazy camber from the factory like my car and its not undoable. These cars are drivin on regular roads and regular speeds. Theres no need for any performance on a street driven jetta. You wont see any of these cars going anywhere near a race track unless its in the parking lot for a show or a meet. Negative Camber isnt a trend, its fitment thats a trend, and it has become standard on a put together car. The goal isnt to add as much negative camber its to fit a wide wheel under your car and be flush with the fender.

And the more that this gets out i find that the people who own these cars know more about suspension geometry than the so called performance oriented people. Which is always funny!

but like i said i appreciate both sides of the debate. performance oriented cars, and hard parked cars. I love it all, i think if you dont your missing out!

See this is the type of thread that makes me laugh.

If you want to stance your car.....do it. If you don't like the way that guy stances his car, tough shit. It's not your car.

It's like bitching that your friends GF is a whore while your GF isn't giving you any. Lol on you sucker.

The ONLY proper way to fit a tire to a car is by it rolling when it's done. EVERYTHING else is grey area and open to interpretation. I think that people who roll around all the time talking about racing and race cars but never actually manage to do much racing that I see, are fags. But I like Simon, he's cool in person.

I just mixed my opinion with a fact. Neither of which will matter to the next person......like this thread.

    Proper Tire fitting:
i honestly cant tell a difference in the stance of the 2 bmws. The top is ugly as shit... but the ride fitment and height seem the same.

This has got to go down as worlds most ignorant/closed-minded/one-sided/judgmental/bullshit threads in automotive forum history... and yet I still find myself compelled to wedge my foot in the door and add another meaningless point to this debate/debacle. First off... Who the FUCK died and made YOU the automotive modification GOD? Who is the judge of what is CORRECT and INCORRECT in regards to ANYTHING related to a personal choice one makes when modifying their car? As with ALL things in life... yes LIFE... that thing that exists outside this bullshit highschool-esque playground called ImportAtlanta we all seem to be a part of... IT'S ALL FUCKING RELATIVE. DUH. Can't you fucking morons get that tiny little factoid mashed in your piss-headed brains? Oh wait, you're all so caught up in this stupid world-war over something as inane as how a person chooses to make their wheels fit to notice that IT DOESN'T FUCKING MATTER. Wake the fuck up and realize that this all has no longer become a fight about function>form or safety or general regards of good taste or whatever. Everyone is in this stupid pissing match about wheel fitment because this is the fucking INTERNET and everyone wants to have their little voice be heard so they can feel significant enough to make it through another day, so they feel the need to bitch and moan about arbitrary things they don't agree with in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, SOMEONE will agree with them... henceforth making their point "valid" and therefore CORRECT, right? Well, sorry to burst your bubble but you're sorely mistaken. I understand that this is an open forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion... one of the last great freedoms we have in this country.. but don't fucking give me this right and wrong bullshit. Please show me the "Official Guide To Proper Wheel Fitment" and I'll kiss your fucking feet oh holy one. Give me a fucking break. I enjoy being a part of this whole car enthusiast world, but it's getting to the point of ridiculousness. Grow the fuck up people. If you don't like something... LOOK THE OTHER FUCKING WAY AND PRETEND IT NEVER HAPPENED. Don't come preaching on some lame-o car forum about how this way is wrong and this way is right. Not everyone sees things the same way you do. Not everyone wants to base their car on a strictly performance platform... just the same as not everyone wants to build a near un-drivable car that has to be trailered to a show to sit and be looked at. Does that make it "wrong?" What makes one artist's art better than anothers? Was Picasso a shittier artist than DaVinci because he has no sense of realism? Are Tarantino's movies better than Scorsese's? Christianity or Atheism? Left wing, right wing? White? Black? Gay? Straight? Some things are going to be up for debate till the end of time so just save your breath and let people do what they do. I personally don't really give a flying fuck how your wheels or tires fit. If it's done in a way that tickles whatever lobe or fold in my brain that causes good sensations then I'll give it a thumbs up... whether it be the hard-parked show car, overly poked and stretched driftomobile, trendy ass honda, beaten and bruised track car, or the "properly" stanced rwd domestic (as you've so eloquently decided as so). Quit being so goddamn shut off to the notion that NOT ALL CARS ARE BUILT TO PERFORM OR GO FAST. I got no beef with the OP or his viewpoints... because that's just it, they're HIS viewpoints. If he thinks he wrote the book on how a cars wheels and tires should fit then good for him, here's a fucking cookie. But how can someone be so closed-minded as to only appreciate ONE form of car styling? I mean, I'm not too stoked on drag racing, but I can appreciate a crazy sub-8 second drag car. I don't particularly care too much for the whole low-rider/hydraulics thing, but I can give props to someone who builds one of those things. American Muscle? Ehhh.. not really my thing, but I can damn sure shake a man's hand and totally dig the old Chevy Nova he totally restored from the ground up. You know why? I enjoy cars. Period. All types. All shapes. All sizes. All styles. Time to go to school? Come on man... Give me a fucking break. Didn't they teach you better than that?
