Maybe I'm the only one that thinks this swap is nice. Lately I've been really interested in the J-Series swap so I read up on it. Think about it: there are millions of Odyssey (J35/3.5L/240 HP) motors so they are inexpensive, the hard part is getting the hard to find CL tranny which is the 6-SPD LSD to handle all that torque. I haven't personally priced it out but I would definitely say it's cheap than a K-Series swap & it will obviously make more TQ than any K-Series at any RPM.

An H22 making less than 200 WHP can already run low 13s so think about what a J-Series CAN do.

And Mantooth.....I agreed with that line of thinking except....springs, lip and Rotas just DOESN'T look good.

I don't see a problem. it's not the most cost efficient means of making a 13s car, but personally I thought the engine sticking out of the hood made it look more aggressive, but w/e

i've heard that they are suppose to be making mounts for this swap to allow the engine to sit lower without cutting the hood

You can close the hood now in EGs/DCs/EKs by swap intake manifolds and valve covers from another J-series motor. Me personally, I think this swaps shits on every other honda swap out there. Why? Because it's relatively cheap (j-series motors are basically given away). I believe you can do this swap for about the same as a gsr swap, and it will shit on a k- and h-series.

My thing is what's up with the hate?!? People bitch about how Honda not having torque. Then when people finally swap in a motor with torque people still bitch. LOL :shakes head:

You do know that HP and torque doesn't mean a good car right?

Any details on the weight, where it mounts, etc?

Hasport has mounts that make this fit under the hood....but you have to use a different subframe. Also, on a stock height car with stock wheels/tires....the oil pan is only 4 inches off the ground.

I would love to do this swap but i think it looks like complete asshole with it sticking out of the hood and its risky as shit with the oilpan being that low. So ill stick to the single jingle I have already. After all...Hondas are slow anyway.

Think about it Simon, if you're doing a v6 swap in a Civic/Integra, I doubt you're worried about anything but straight line speed. But never know, with the proper suspension setup and tires, you can make anything turn.

Plus, a good friend of mines has j35 with a 6spd in his Civic coupe and it didn't seem "too" different.

For less you could put a K with bolt ons and be faster, plus close your hood. Oh your car would drive on all four wheels too and not do stoppies under hard braking.
    Wrong...wrong...wrong...

    It's not even 50 lbs heavier than a K-series...
You can close your hood with the right mounts from Hasport.
I agree K>J series but this is definitely something new and cool.

That's only if you have your ebay coils spun all the way to the bottom, jk.

I'd rather have a decent drop so this motor could fit under my hood then be slammed to the ground and have it sticking out the hood.
