Yeah I should probably do that considering I have owned three cars since the Kouki.
Love it, slap a begi kit on it
Yeah, those handle very well.
^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle
id rather have a NB than a S2k anyways.
looks good man.
Miata > S2K.
My old Miata would walk S2K's even in a straight line. Better built cars IMO.
IMHO, The FM VooDoo II kit is a better option. It's more expensive right off the bat, but once you add in all the accessories to the BEGi stuff, you end up with the same price. I also say that FM has better customer service.
There are TONS of options out there, just like with any car. Have fun learing the NB chassis and the BP engine. Here are some sites to get you started...
www.miata.net - Yeah..lots of old folk...maybe have to sift though the garbage, but it's a huge resource that everyone uses.
www.miataturbo.net - This is NOT a forum for n00bs. READ all the FAQ before posting. When posting, use proper English and demonstrate you are level-headed and there to learn and contribute or you be harassed and banned quickly. With so many other forums, we (MT) know that there are so many other sites out there and don't want to be bothered with the same shit that can be found elsewhere....think of it as an 'advanced knowledge' site.
www.clubroadster.net - Mostly NA chassis love over there. Lots of cosmetic and accessory information over there. Lots of info about Japanese-market parts and how to get them. Large member base with a good bit of asshattery too.
www.mx5atlanta.com - local resource that kinda combines all of the above. We are not a "club" either. Age range is large as is the types of people on there...some big HP and performance people and some that are about looks and some who know stupid little details and lots of knowledge on fixing shit.
www.flyinmiata.com - Have fun drooling and reading all the technical stuff. Large spectrum of parts from turbos, to suspension to brake and exterior parts as well as used OEM parts.
www.bellengineering.net - Some cool innovative stuff over there. Main focus is on engine performance. Corky Bell is a very smart man...wrote a boot called "Maximum Boost" that if you want to get into forced induction, I highly suggest you read.
www.good-win-racing.com - Brian Goodwin is all about making a Miata handle better...and knows what he is talking about. TONS of suspension and brake parts/kits found here.
www.racingbeat.com - A company that has been tuning Miatas since the beginning. Also focused on minor n/a performance parts and TONS of high quality suspension goodies as well as exterior bits.
You'll quickly learn that Miatas are NOT good cars for "all motor" or n.a tuning. Very few have broken the 200rwhp mark this way and it takes about 2x the cost of a FM-II kit. Mazda designed the B6/BP engines for boost for their WRC efforts years ago. The intake/heads just don't flow well when n/a....but a cast iron closed-deck block is all about boost. The pistons are the weak point. Simply upgrading to beefy rods can put you well above 300+rwhp reliably.
Have fun.
02' Miata
S2k can be had as cheap as 7k....
Fantastic post, thank you. What kind of bars do you have?
I don't want to speak for him because I may be wrong, but I think they are Boss Frog double hoops.

Welcome to the "I used to own a 240 but now own a Miata" club.
Yeah yeah it wouldn't WALK them but an S2K wasn't like vroom vroom bye bye.
Wow you're right long time! How have you been? When I first met her it was about stock engine wise, just bolt ons but later it had a full stand alone, head work, no more AFM, etc. I also made a set of ITB's for it from GSXR600 throttle bodies and stock IM but sold it before I finished it and got it running right. I lied it wouldn't WALK Miatas in a straight line but on tracks when a straight came it'd be door to door and depending who got the run of of a turn I could pull a lead. Suspension wise it was ALL aftermarket.
I miss it.I traded it for a Porsche 914, I don't have that anymore either.
very nice!
man, Im really thinking about trying to trade my integra for a miata. It's just the whole size issue that's holding me back.
