oh nothing against that, I'm sure Steve appreciates it lol! I'm just saying $300 used M3 cams with stock M valvetrain and you'd get a 20hp gain...for about a grand installed!

Stock M5 suspension is just as good as the Koni and probably only cost $250, might even get the sways for a few hundred too.

All are very true but at the time I was coming from Nissan to BMW and everything with the car is maintained by Global Imports so those were the upgrades recommended and I did them. Would I do it again... Hell no. But hey its a lesson learned.

Nothing against the car, I love e39's, just call it "market research" -- I'm always curious what peoples motives and objectives are when modifying cars and what determines their choices!
