That's not always the case. If you shop right and do your homework, you can get by with a very nicely done car for a good, low cost. Later, QD.

Sorry, let me clarify. I was talking full engine builds, real coilovers, tranny builds, half shafts, and all the little nickel and dime things most everyone over looks, like mounts, bushings, etc. When you get that deep into one it can start ringing up thousands quick. And you still have a stock looking car.

Again, it's all about shopping around. And your knowledge of cars. If you can find the stuff you need at prices under the norm and know how to install or do most of the work yourself, your costs are going to be much lower. And it really has to do with the car you start off with as well. It's probably impossible to even get started modifying a Porsche without a beginning price of several thousand dollars. But you could turn around and make some damn good power out of a Dodge neon for that same amount. Later, QD.

This is true. It will be cheaper. Still not cheap though. Especially when your talking more expensive cars. The people I am trying to get my point across to are the ones who think you can build a car right for a few grand. It's not gonna happen. You know that. You know what it will cost you to get your CVCC finished. I'm talkin interior, your new front end, paint, EVERYTHING.
