Default Forged Performance: TEIN Flex Install 370Z Complete

Posted by Sharif in another forum. Thought I would share with you all!

Just finished installing a set of TEIN Flex on a customer's 370Z. The TEIN Flex runs a 12KG (670lb) spring all around, vs. the 14KG (780lb) spring of the TEIN Mono Flex, which gives the car a little bit softer ride. I am running the Mono Flex's on my 370Z, and its hard for me to tell the difference in firmness when driving down the street, but a subtle difference does exist. We are also running the RE11's 265/305 on his OEM wheels with some spacers.

Here are some pics I thought I would share.

Those are the best looking OEM Z wheels. With the spacers, they're $$$.

    I like it.

I know guys! They are growing on me lightning fast. Its so hard to say no to them. Especially when you can stuff 305s on them with a spacer.

Hell yea. I'm seriously digging them over the new G37. Why? You can fit really widea$$ wheels and tires. Better and stronger engine (internals included). Rev match synchro.

If only the interior is a bit more refined, better LSD, Brembo instead of Akebono brakes, then it'd give other Z cars a serious run for the $$.

Looks pretty good. Love the wheels. I never realized how sharply angles that roof is.

i have to disagree with your statement.....

To say the least, we smashed our expectations for it's first track event, even with a fairly important adjustment that still needs to be made to the front shock travel. We ran a 1:19 lap at Roebling Road on the 3rd lap out in the morning on R888 rubber. That car is absolutely insane in the corners, and the braking power is off the charts. I had an idiot's grin on my face for hours after I climbed out of the car. We had the fastest car at this Porsche club event, and there were plenty of heavy hitters. Many GT3's on slicks, 997TT's, etc..etc.

And still with a bone stock engine and intake. Just the test pipes and exhaust...not even a tune!! It's only get to get much faster from here. We have a lot of work still left to do, but it's good to see the car on track, and running fairly strong.

Fully race gutted 370 caged was 3250.

90 Percent race gutted Evo 8 weighs 2800.

2 More doors, 2 more axles, a transfer case.... and its still lighter... weird?

Nothing against Forged. I am good friends with pretty much the entire staff (except the topspeed guys, haven't gotten to know them yet) but just stating facts.

The 370Z in race prep trim without driver and with 5 gallons of fuel 2944lbs. Nissan uses a lot of reinforced steel throughout the car resulting in one of the stiffest OEM chassis we have seen. Of course, that comes with a weight penalty, but I wouldnt call it a heavy pig just yet.

If we prepped the car for an unlimited class, we could easily drop another 100-150lbs but it's not the goal of this car for 2010. Obviously, we've love to have the lightest car possible, but a heavier car certaintly doesn't prevent us from being competitive and winning. The GT-R weighs in at 3600lbs without driver and we finished 3rd in the 2009 National Redline Time Attack points chase.

Yeah, if I knew the 370Z would have been this good, we've probably be racing two of them, instead of the GT-R.

because YOU need better brakes and LSD.... the akebonos are better than the factory brembos of yesteryear. and the lsd is just fine. you just need to learn how to drive a car with what it has. and not immediately change everything on it.
