maybe because coilovers were designed for the track and to be adjustable, not to tuck the tires into the fender for a "stance" fad that only half of the car enthusiasts actually thinks look good. fucking dumbass ricer mentality of "only what I think looks good is what actually looks good:

I personally think cars look better with a little bit of wheel gap, maybe a cm or 2 of black space between the top of the tire and the lower edge of the top of the wheel arch.

I am getting coilovers for my car next week and I am also not slamming my car. Coilovers have so many advantages over any spring strut comobo out there!

i think what mr. allmota is saying, is the same thing i said, if you want function over form.. the FUNCTION & FORM coilovers shouldnt have been his best choice. They are the "dumbass ricer mentality" choice of suspension....

Maybe he has a good reason he wants those specific coilovers? I could get some cheap $700 d2 coilovers but I am choosing to spend more money to get a better setup. Sometimes going the cheaper route isn't the best way to do things, there are some things you can skimp on, but I do not think suspension is one of them!

read my other post.. for the price of the FF he could have gotten a better setup that suits his style. But the FF coils are said to be the same as the K sports, and D2 anyway.

This is what we are saying about it.. if he isnt going to slam, i dont think these were the best choice, since he wasnt going for that look. A KYB - Koni - ground control - eibach basic coilover kit would have gave him exactly what he wanted if not better. instead of going with the FF brand that hasnt been around near as long as the other more reliable brands.

I was just going off what he said, which was that he read the reviews.. but the reviews are from the people he wants to seperate himself from...lol

If I'm not mistaken these allow you to change the spring rate, possibly even damper stiffness, independently from the ride height. ALL COILOVER SLEEVES just let you change the height, and the spring rate changes accordingly.

I'd pay the extra money for that versatility alone.

having a slammed car isn't the ricer mentality, the ricer mentality was EJ saying that these coilovers are pointless if not slammed. That was a stupid thing to say because he called the thread a "fucking dumb ass thread" just because it didn't fit what he thought looked good. JITB, you know I don't agree with the VIP style, but I don't bash you for it, or say it's wrong, I just say I don't like it. You know I also find myself drooling over half of the threads you post, so don't think I am saying riding low is not correct. But EJ acting like only what he would do with that equipment is the only right thing to do is very close minded and ignorant. So I was saying "fucking dumb ass ricer mentality" to mock "fucking dumb ass thread".

As for Function Vs. Form Vs. Function AND Form-->Maybe he likes having the options open, and wants to make the resale value of the car better by being able to sell it to the community that'll be able to go the slammed or track route with the same setup.

^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

Never did i say they were only good if you were slammed. you read what you wanted to read.. As far as it being a "fucking dumbass thread", it is.. this is the CAR PICS section NOT THE LOOK WHAT I ORDERED FOR MY CAR section.. if he wanted to post the parts he was ordering for his car he should have made a build thread...

I took you comment "why spend the money if you still going to be rockin wheel gap" as basically "why buy coil overs if you're not slamming a car" which was like saying it's all they're good for. That is why I took your comment to be ignorant for thinking you only buy coil overs to slam a car and why you must think it's the only right thing to do. If you meant, why buy THOSE coil overs when there are better ones for just dropping an inch or so, then you should have worded it like others did.

Others as in the other people who worded it properly. If everyone spoke vaguely where their sentences could mean 3 or 4 different things because they're too lazy to type out 3 or 4 lines of coherent, slightly more precise text, then it would be chaotic.

Wow, you speak as though you THINK you know me.. watch yaself, my car is on full Coilovers as well.. it allows me the freedom to do as i please, slam my car or raise it up at anytime.. Many have expressed their opinion on his decision to drop bread on these when he could have accomplished his desired ride height for cheaper with the same ride quality.. But you single my comment out, Lol.. when he tracks his car i will make sure i pay homage to him for putting his suspension to "good use".. You then turn and say you like wheel gap, is that not your opinion.. i dont see anyone gettin on you for it, you respond like its your car or as if he is your :idb: .. anyway you do your thing and i will do mine..
