Normally if a car has been out this long, this is the part where I say "I didn't like them at first, but damn... it's growing on me."

that back end hatch just kills it for me! theres no motor back there so i think it wasnt needed.

Aside from the aesthetics past the rear door they did a great job. Interior = awesome, performance = awesome, front 3/4ths of the car = awesome. Mission accomplished.

Yeah, true, I take my comment back, when they got to drawing the back half of the car the designers coffee tipped over all over the sheet and smeared. They left it as is.

I think the car is gorgeous, and I've said this many times. It's an elegant 4-door Porsche. Nothing better than that (not really). I still can't understand the hate, but whatever.

Honestly though, I think the wheels are fucking hideous LOL

It's the back of them, everything else looks great, but the whole rear shape and all is just stupid, looks like they tried to keep 911 lines in a four door platform. Is it a wagon? Is it a sedan? Is it a mini SUV?

No. They had a different design going into the project, unfortunately Wiedeking decided he wanted changes, specifically in the rear. He wanted the back seat to be able to accommodate tall people (he is like 6'3"/6'4" himself). Thus they had to redesign the back, thats why the hatch came out like that.

The color and wheels...yes, very nice but I still want to know what Porsche was thinking when this car was being designed.

That rear end is just...wrong. I keep wondering why they didn't give it more of a defined "trunk area" like the Cayman. Oh well. Maybe next time.

I like it. I went for a ride in one at Barber and it was really nice. I'm not impressed by Porsche's unless its a Carrera GT, but this one definitely changed my mind.

not feeling the color.Calvin Johnson's parents lives next door to me and he rolls up in his Maserati which is the same color and I just don't like it all that much.

Thanks...wheels help, still not pretty. THat said the engineering in this sedan is 2nd to none and embarrasses any other 4 door.

I still don't like these. I can understand wanting to keep a fastback style rear end for aerodynamics, but it really doesn't work with a sedan style body.

I agree. I wish the the tail-end wasn't so bulbous, and I don't like the tail-lamp design. Those tail-lamp "eyelids" in the TechArt one that ironchef posted look pretty good.

Oddly enough though, I like the Rover SD-1. I feel like this and various Citroen's are the only ones that manage a "hatch" on an executive car.

I personally love the way it looks from any angle. Then again I wouldn't be talking shit about any car I can't afford..

Still haven't seen one in person though.
