I like it. Fuck what other people think... they don't pay his bills. :D
You're right. I don't like it. Still doesn't change the fact that even you, who obviously does like that trend, can't even explain what it is they like about putting on a wheel that looks more like a spare than a custom wheel. It was a simple enough question. If you can't answer it, then don't try.
A simple, "I'm a bandwagon rider JDM tyte type and have no damn clue why I like some cheap looking wheels but I had to have them anyway..." would've sufficed. :goodjob::rolleyes:
BTW, "fitment" means it FITS properly. If you have -50 camber because the car is so slammed and the wheels are wrong, the it kinda defeats the word's meaning. Right? A wheel that has proper "fitment" should never make the car look like a squating duck.
To each their own. I've just never had anyone intelligently explain why they like the steelie trend, so I asked in here since it seems this thread had a ton of people really digging the look.
why is everything about being JDM?
it's just about me liking a wheel..
I'm not JDM because I eat sushi or I'm not EDM because I drink tea...
why is JDM automatically associated with everything that is honda-related?
Heheh. Thank you, sir.
Who refers to it as US style? Europeans have been doing "fitments" like that for many years. I've had European car magazines from the 80s with cars dropped down on wheels like that. Aside from hot rodding, I don't anything that the US has really created. Later, QD.
yeah.. americans have a different style.. i dont think of anything as JDM.. its East coast and west coast mainly...
west coast is big, flashy, expensive and sometimes fast.
east coast is flawless, detailed, and thought out modifications.
sure.. i've never seen another white honda civic hatchback on widened steelies.. have you?
everyone can have their own style, and i absolutely hate the word vip.
and the wheels look okay, i like them, but jus wish they had wider tires
i dont think this is the same car but looks the same....looks way better with the bys bumper......

thats soo purty
Lol good lord people I only made the thread to pick at Toxxxic. I never said I think that car looks badass on "steelies".
Then by gooly jeepers, because YOU haven't seen one then that HAS TO BE the Holy Grail of trend setters with the steelies on a white car....
Give me a break dude. The steelies trend has been going on for a while now.
Question: Why not just figure out what the offset needed to have the wheels come out to the edge of the fender is and get a regular, i.e. nice looking, wheel on there? It can't be that hard to figure out or is it?
They look interesting, But I wouldnt own a set !
I follow no trends. I do what I like and when I like it. Calling me something that is nowhere near my style or likings is absurd.
If you would have read my post. It clearly stated that I like the steel wheel thing when it is properly exacuted. IE: There's a newer model tacoma near me that has crager 8's or something along those lines on it. Fits the truck properly and flows really nice with the theme he has. I had an s-10 with 15x8 steel ralley wheels. they set perfectly in the pocket and looked great. I've seen plenty of cars that have them sitting with no camber, tucked perfectly under the fenders and it looks great. It seems you've limited yourself to the honda scene, saying it looks like shit and dumb. If the person that puts them on their car thinks it looks "cool", then guess what, to them it does. Your opinion will not change theirs unless they fall victim to caring what others think about their car.
You have the way you view things about it and I have mine. I have a feeling we will not agree on this and that doesn't bother me. That's your right. To have your own opinion on things like this, as myself do too.
I will not respond anymore about this in this thread. I will not even read anymore of it.
Just stating my 10 cents
Thank you and good night
trends are for lewzurs.
Good God! Yall wanna rock spare tires, rock em' by God. I can't put a spare tire on my car even if I wanted to, so whatever.
There's an old saying: You can polish a turd, but in the end it's still a turd....just shiny. If it looks like a spare tire off a Buick, then that's what it looks like. Yall are all trying so damn hard to convince me that it's uber fresh, JDM tyte, and full "custom" because you stretch out a steel wheel. Fine. If you can tell me I'm an idiot for not getting why people call stock steel wheels "cool", then I can call you an idiot for not being able to answer a simple question too.
You guys are right. If the owner likes it, then that's all that matters. Totally agree. By the same token, don't get your vagina all sandy when I don't find it to be my cup of tea either. Right?
