    Right he is. It's actually the same tranny and clutch as the 6spd manual, but instead of a clutch pedal + traditional shifter the actuators do all the shifting. I has paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel, or it can be put in full automatic mode. Each mode has 6 settings to adjust the RPM range it shifts at, and the speed of each shift. In S6 it shifts at redline and can shift in 80 milliseconds.

    SMG is a love it or hate it sort of thing. I drive in a lot of traffic, so it's nice to commute in full auto. And I still have the paddle shifting for trackdays, and one of the best parts is that it takes the possibility of a misshift out of the equation.

    I rarely use the paddles. The best part is the electonic launch control, the rev-match downshifts, and just holding the fucker to the floor on acceleration. It's literally a perfect upshift and downshift every time.


    You'll hate SMG until you master it. After that, you'll never want a normal manual again.
