The lower is a spoiler acting as a gurney flap and the upper is a wing for stability. The lower spoiler assists the wing making it more functional. BMW did this on the certain versions of the e30 M3 EVO 20 years ago. RUF was doing it on Porsche's in the 80's...Originally Posted by flatop09
