I can't believe I read through all of those posts. Well, I do have some advice on the p/s pump and the rack and pinion issue...... Who says that you have to use the power steering pump just to make the water pump spin? Best solution is to completely remove the pump. The tensioner pulley should be replaced with an idle pulley from a '95-2001 explorer if I remember right, but I could be wrong. You need a pulley that is grooved and it has to have the 1603 bearing in the center of it to the locking nut will fit in the center.
As far as the alternator goes, just bolt up the KL alternator and leave it be.
I would've never welded in the engine mount bracket because you practically need that space to remove the water pump pulley bolts. I would've bolted them up and just made a plate specifically for welding up a bracket so you could bolt up the mount bracket.
On ebay, they sell an aluminum 2 pass radiator for the BG for $125. Avoid the civic radiator like the plague.
My car is on jackstands with no transmission, if you get my drift. It'll be running soon
