thanks man. reps. its not a street monster but i think it will be able to hold its own now. its come a long way from 72 ft lbs of tq. lol
make sure you mount the harness on the firewall man, dont want it to burn up like mine did...lol
LMAO, before i went for the first drive i thought of you, and ziptied it to some misc brackets for the old a/c lines. its works for now.
so far about 3 trips of more than 10 minutes so im happy.
Hell yes! This is officially epic! Congrats dude!
Bozzio for president.
haha thanks man. i dont think my swap gets lots of attention on here but it feels good to see some appreciation.
now i need to sit down and figure out how much i have spent so far and still not done yet, lol
roughly 50 miles on the swap and no major problems! woot!
my ignition switch got stuck today though at the gas station so i took my column apart right there at the pump. talk about on site maintenance. lol
Any more pics?
Remember......... Do not sell the car LOL
Peek-a-boo mofucka what now?!
u gonna drive up to import alliance this weekend? it will be the ultimate test!
no. but im off tomorrow so i may throw some quick ones up. been driving around with no hood at the moment...what a ricer right? lol
i wouldnt get anywhere near what ive put into it if i did so i dont think i will. lol
im not that confident in it yet. im getting an alignment thursday if my paycheck goes through.
This is a VERY cool build man. I've owned way more MX6's than I care to admit so I'm pretty familiar with Mazda piston engines. I've always found the KL to be a very lacking engine in terms of performance considering it is a 2.5L V6 but I know how much fun they can be (in an MX6 which is heavier!). I can imagine this thing is an absolute blast to drive. NOW IT NEEDS A TURBO.![]()
Tom
ive got some fine tuning to do obviously on ignition timing or tps. if i did my math right im getting 14mpg. fuck.
I have a lifted 1983 K10 that gets around 14mpg bro! Fix yo shit.
Tom
Hell my Miata got under 10mpg. lol
i better see u tomorrow,fool
one day it will be up there.
i finally got around to swapping out my leaking rear valve cover. i took the other one off the mx6. and while i had the manifold and stuff off i did a little painting. so here is the bay as of today.

Looking good man, I love this build. If I find a deal on a shitty old 323 I'll be contacting you, haha.
Tom
Have you weighed the car by any chance with the KL in it? IIRC those 323's only weigh a shade over a ton in factory trim.
BTW everyone I have shown this car to online is AMAZED at how much room is under the hood with the V6 in it.
Tom
DAMN! u flipped the script lol sorry...but that shit is fire under the hood man
I wouldn't mind seeing this sometime.... I'm interested in how well it's running.
K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.
it needs some work before i drive it out of town. i stay in the warner robins/macon area for now. both front wheel bearings are shot(junkyard hubs), and some other little misc. things need to be fixed.
it is running good though. about 400 miles on it so far.
So when's the video clip coming?

Ballerness is like butter you just can't blob it in one place you got to spread that shit around

Just when i thought the swap was going well, Kaboom.
Spun a rod bearing just cruising along out of nowhere. It was not even knocking the day before. FML...
Damn bro. Wtf.
Tom
damn that sucks dude

Idk man. I've never seen anything like it. You could not hear any kind of knocking until yesterday. I thought it was a bad valve because it was so faint. so I was driving home to park it last night and it happened.
I'll post some pictures later.
well a friend of mine has a spare k8 with a blown headgasket... im sure he will give to you for free, or spare change! if u need something to put in it!
Which bearing did you spin?

Thanks Joe. I might hit him up on that offer. I wanted to build a Klde/ze hybrid anyway but not this soon. Thats the plan right now.
EDIT: didn't see it has a blown HG. I have one of those in my driveway in the mx6 lol. I want a zero mile rebuild.
Blackshine it was cylinder number 6. Looking up at the bottom end it was the far left rod.
Yeah, a weak oil pump will do that. I probably might wanna consider changing mine out sometime. I don't feel like spending $160 for a new one, though![]()

That might explain the lifter tick...my head might have not been getting enough oil. I thought it was just common with Mazda heads because my old b6 did it too.
I knew I should have finished hooking up my oil pressure gauge. Had one in the car ready to go but just had not ran the nylon line yet.
