They ended up turning into a production car building 200 of them for homologation purposes to run Group B rally. Then another 20 with over 400hp. The same goes for the Renault R5 Turbo 2 and Peugeot 205 T16. Both were also FWD econoboxes converted to mid-engine for rally...then they produced 200 to make them legal.

Saab 9-3 Viggen Converted to AWD for the Pikes Peak Hillclimb

Cool thread but it's kind of dumb. Half of these weren't converted, they're tube frame....
The FWD/RWD/AWD debate is stupid. Put it this way:
Say you have three cars of the same chassis and design, but each of them has a different drivetrain setup - fwd, rwd, and awd. If you were in neutral at speed and went into a corner, they would all have the same characteristics. Now with it actually in gear, you just have to change your driving style.
In the end it is simply preference.
Another Busa swap in a lil car. MK1 Golf w/ a turbo hayabusa motor actually in the engine bay & RWD
