Default Terrible IS300 - Great Before & After

Done by Zen Motors today. For more information PM ZenMotor's or GGPIS300

Basically at one point the hood and roof where repainted and the clear had been failing from very long exposures in the sun. Was SEVERLY oxidized. Was able to pull as much as I could out. Sucked that the hood and roof where so starved that within about 5 secs of the compound sitting on the hood, it caked on its own and turned to dust. So it was extremely hard to buff.

Before: As you can tell its a black car that almost looks white!

Then the test spot to see if it was able to at least be cleaned up and returned to its original color so it could get a better price at auction...

Some half and halfs on the roof...

Then after, before washing and waxing...

Now washed, the rest of the car clayed and waxed...

Customer was extremely happy that his car was once again all one color!

does it stay like that or will it begin to oxidize again?

Should not as long as it is cared for. The owner got it this way from an auction. Then judging by the rest of the vehicle, car care was no where in mind for the last owner. Now that the car is waxed and gets washed and waxed regularly then it should be fine.

After I finished on the hood, I could see one spot where the clear was starting to fail, and would probably have finally cracked in the next few months if nothing was done.

why I never went for the carbon fiber hood thing...most that see that are over a year old look like complete shit, I think right when you purchase one you immediately need to drop it off somewhere to get it clear coated...with alot of it. maybe some other people that carbon fiber hoods will chime in and let us know how to keep them looking brand new

Just like you said. Most carbon fiber panels come gel coated, so what your suppose to do is get them recleared right away. To keep things from fading is easy...just take care of it, keep it waxed often. Wax just doesnt make your car look/feel good it gives it a good layer of UV protection added to the clears protection!

Im sure your sure. That was the whole point of him getting the work done. So he can pull a better price at the auction for it.

Yup he hasn't changed. I guess the car business is treating him well. I haven't seen him in awhile.

nice job guys, I'd do this with mine, but I'd rather paint it at this point...
