So now, your insurance thinks you can't drive. You wrecked all on your own according to police report. lol Now you have a to pay a deductible, and all for someone else mistake.

the police officer found the other car at fault FYI. and my deductible is 250 for collision and 150 for comprehensive. so all in all im out 250 dollars and 28.98 for my rental.

I feel ya on the ' in the moment thing '. I was in an accident where a lady swerved into my lane, so I swerved into another lane and had to slam on my brakes, ending up in the rear-end of a Tahoe. yeah, I should have let her hit me, but I was thinking:OHSHIT MOVE OUTTA THE WAY- WHEW- OHSHIT...slide...bam.

What other car? You mean the one that isn't going to pay for any of your damages? The one that "fled" the scene?

you know how many times I've had people swerve in my lane and I automatically without thinking swerve to avoid them?

Shit happens in the moment I doubt she had time to think the actions through and make a reasonable assessment

UPDATE:
so, im in a vw rabbit rental i love it. adjuster came out and claimed 2k on the front and rear bumpers and a side panel. also i bought my wheels online and im pretty sure they are discontinued so...he said they will probably cut me a check for the wheels/tires and i can go shopping. car is gonna be taken to mechanic shop this week/weekend for the mechanic issues to be estimated. car is 90% likely to NOT BE TOTALED : )

Are you kidding? Who the fuck can't react that fast? You're telling me anytime you have someone move over on you you automatically go the opposite direction?

What's wrong with the brakes? Speeding up for them to see? Moving into them. Honking? Moving slowly to the wall so if you do hit it you don't smash into it? Lots of options here, why go ape shit and take out the wall?

frame is fine from what they said, the adjuster *who in my opinion* knew nothing.stated that it might have been by just looking at it. shop said it wasnt. total damages were 6,400. car is worth 10,800 so they didnt total it.
