BMW M1 @ Cars and Coffee

It's older than both, so how would this be their child?

It looks like it, not that it is capable of being so. Im torn between liking it and disliking it, but overall i think its overdone which makes it ugly in my eyes

What's over done? That's a M1 Procar, not a street car. There's so much history to those cars and those that raced them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procar

Lamborghini was supposed to build the M1 for BMW but financially couldn't do it after starting the project.

The M1 was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the same man thought brought us the Deloreon 4 years later. He also designed the De Tomaso Mangusta and Maserati Bora...all with similar designs to the M1. Not to mention the Mk1 VW Golf, Scirroco, and countless other designs he's known for.
