Close but not quite. Albrecht von Goertz designed the BMW 503 and 507 (The 507 almost put BMW into bankruptcy). He also designed a Nissan 2000GT prototype with Yamaha which they built in the early 60's but Nissan didn't go through with it.

A couple years later him and Yamaha went to Toyota proposing the 2000GT and they bit the hook, but revised it using their own designer Satoru Nozaki...and obviously built it.

The 240z car was designed by a team under Yoshihiko Matsuo. At the same time the C10 series Nissan Skyline 2000GT was released and built. Obviously it takes years between the car being on paper and rolling off the assembly line.

Do you see what I see in the background? Remember this was early 60's and the S30 240Z wasn't introduced until 1969.
