M52 E30... why no S50/S52?
uh, me...lol. I just took the pic 5 minutes before posting it. It's gonna be n/a until I sell some of my cars and get some more camera gear...specifically a full frame body. I can make money off a new camera...can't make money, err much, off a turbo lol!
I'm still debating on full standalone or a hacked DME...price is about the same but can't make changes with the DME unless I take it back to the same place and have it retuned and reburned.
No one knows what they are looking at on here... It isn't a b-series or K, lol.
I wish it was still the 6 series.
He's just saying the general population has no clue about BMW's on here...other then "they're expensive". Honestly it's not that difficult or that expensive. I've just been taking my time buying and trading parts as I go so theoretically this car isn't costing me anything. Being "unemployed" twice in the past year doesn't help either lol! I've made back about 75% of what I have put into it though, will be 100% if I sell a few more parts I have acquired since starting the project...or I'll just trade those for something else I need or want on the car lol!
Sure I could go out and pay a shop $5k to do the swap including an M50/52 but what's the fun in that?! The big money will be getting the turbo going...then after that a custom body i've had practically every square inch designed & planned out for the past year lol! I'm positive I'll be getting a new shell for that to build it from scratch...
I thought you were keeping it stock? lol
pictures look good as always...i'm still too BMW illiterate to have any idea exactly what i'm looking it.
whats the downside to the stand alone set-up??
yawn.
nice pictures though.
Just as an example, here's a stock M52 with a GT42 in an e36 with full leather interior that weighs 700lbs more than my car. The car is eased off the line because BMW's are prone to tearing the subframe off the chassis...yet it still traps 140 mph.

He purposely blew that engine on the dyno to see what it was capable of...25psi @ 704whp before bending a rod. It runs 9's now with a built m52 making high 99Xwhp lol!
Who said that? lol! I'm gonna keep the exterior 100% stock for now, big bumpers and all, bottle caps, with good tires. Then just slightly lowered with springs and shocks. Will be looking for a chassis to build the wide body hatch with.![]()

Whats the lighting used in the shot? lol
good choice over the s52 if your pushing boost with no work.
uhh...my income comes from the computer lol! Not to mention when I did have access to an engine hoist (that didn't roll anyways lol) I didn't have engine mounts. Then when I got engine mounts I didn't have a hoist...kinda hard to lift a 450lb engine 4 feet in the air without a hoist or a tree to hang it from.![]()
damn its about time. lol
Hell yes.
my mom has that same oil cap ..
nice pics
Can't go wrong with a BMW V6.
Wow, a lot of information sprung from this picture. Any how, looks like you got something serious going down here. Iwish you the best of luck with your build, keep us updated.

Motor looks really good guy! I know it will be an amazing car once you get all your money together by selling stuff you no longer need.
