My dad raced a Y-block '56 Ford back in the early sixties. He said the top ends of the Y-blocks would get eaten up because of low oil pressure until people started doing this modification to them.
I'll have to look into that man, we made our own plate underneath the intake manifold, but I'm not sure if we addressed this issue in the build.

Haha, we had to stay true to the Y block. The motor we had actually formed a crack in the block, so we had to get a new bottom end. We could have just bought a 302 to throw in there, but decided it wasn't the right thing to do.

Maybe down the road we'll throw a supercharger on it from the T-Birds. But now it's just a cruiser.
