My buddy Andy Finally finished his baby, just in time for the flyrtle car show in west palms. This is a beautiful example of a Mazda Mx-3, feedback always welcome

At first I was going to post that the car looks good but the paint looks like ass.

But I looked at it again and took a few minutes and I changed my mind. That paint, although common as hail on a lot of cars, is not on that car. I actually think it looks awesome on there. I do have to say it would be very cool with a nicer looking set of wheels. The size is good, it;s just that style.

    Overall, good job. Later, QD.

I broke an axle once, back when it was a motor car. Since then, no broken axles or broken transmissions. So far it went 12.7 on the wastegate, no track numbers yet with the boost controller on, but it's an extra 80whp so hopefully I'll see improvement.

As for the rims, I kinda like that style and I like the weight of them (16 pounds for a 17" rim). The tires are 245/45/17. I might get a set of RP-F1s for the track in 16" but those are the same styling as these just 6 spoke as opposed to 5 spoke. It's really hard to find a lightweight wheel that will hold a tire that big on this car. It gets into a real game of offsets and widths to make it clear the coilover, which it barely does now.

Oh ya, I'm the one that owns the car if that wasn't obvious by my post.

Thanks for all the compliments, I'm kinda happy with the car finally.

That looks like a really fun car! Super clean and tastefully done as well.

Im with QD, size of wheels are good, they just need to be a diff style...throws off the whole "theme" of the car

Car looks outstanding. Like others, I think there is probably a better suited set of wheels for this car.

But hey, you know its a good thing if people have to get picky with their commentary!

I'm fine with the wheel choice, yes they are a bit over done but they look good on the car, plus they are not just for aesthetics so....

About 345-355whp dynojet. It did the 12.7 pass on 270whp, so we'll see where it goes from here.

I think the wheels would look better with a black face, the gold is so classy that silver doesnt do it justice. But some Gold/black meshies would be hot. Sweet car either way, i bet it is a lot of fun.

I have a set of black wheels in 15" as well but I'm a little over the black wheel trend lately. After some photoshop work checking out different lip/color combos on the current wheels I stuck with the silver for now. I was quite interested in a black rim with gold lip originally.

I stuck with the silver rims to compliment the silver IC pipes and IC up front and did the window tint to provide the black/gold contrast. In the engine bay I have the piping and powdercoating gloss black/gold vein to contrast the bright gold paint in the engine bay. The engine used to by silver/silver vein until I recently redid it.

I'd like it a little lower too. I'd have to order some softer springs for the coilovers because I have to preload the springs as it is to fit a tire that wide on there without rubbing. Haven't gotten around to ordering new springs just yet.

With a thinner tire, maybe a 225 or so, I could drop it as low as I want.

No it wasn't an SE, I swapped the whole thing over, every single piece too....

The SE leathers in there now only have 70k on them, great junkyard find for $20 each. I sold my old set of SE leathers to a local 323 guy.

I do see the similarity to the SRT4 bumper vents on the side now that you mention it. Unfortunately for the SRT4 the Mazdaspeed front bumper came out many years before the SRT4 was even conceived.

That's a funny similarity, I never noticed that. I wanna go park next to an SRT now and compare side by side.

Updated times for the Gold MX3. Went to the track today, but on some Hoosier DOT drags and some Spin Werkes super lightweight rims. Great results.
