Cheap was a requirement when making the "Toyobaru". YUeah 40k euros is like 55k American, I think you were thinking about the new Supra thing, no this was supposed to be around $20k American. SUCH a good idea. Low CG thanks to boxer engine, but light thanks to RWD instead of AWD.
Well my friend. Welcome to the wonderful world of Japanese sports cars.
Your own car is a prime example. The RX7, Supra and the Z were all Poor Mans Porsches. They were made to put the common feller, like you and me, into a car that could run with a Porsche. Enter that crazy electronic explosion era called the 1980's and the cars started to bloat out like a dead whale. The packed them full of gizmos and added the dollars to the stickers to reflects that.

Continue to the late 80's and then the early 90's and the prices for them new had reached $40k. That spelled the end of them. Then after a renewed interest in them, they started to make em again.

It's the same thing with this piece of crap. A Boxer Engined Toyota successor to the 86? Laugh. The boxer is a wonderful powerplant, but not in a Toyota vehicle that has such a lineage. Like I said, that would be like coming out with a successor to the RX-7 and filling it with a V6. Stupid.

    Very true. Buuuuuuuuuut.

    1. It's not a Suby...so Suby owners would not be Suby owners if they got it

    2. People need to sell ALOT of cars!!!!!!
