dooo ettt
look good!
pics look damn good wish i had skills like that
i'm gonna be 100% honest with ya here....
:EDIT after reading my previous comment it sounded quite douchebaggy lol: These are good for your first try. i haven't shot with strobes but one time and i had a model so the focus was taken away from the car. the reason these are not amazing IMO is because the whole car isn't lit. i understand the use of accent lighting, but i think if you've got those strobes that kevin has then you should def. be able to light the whole car. i think the best way to use strobes is for extra or more precise light, not as a substitute for light when it comes to cars: (example below of really precise light)
you end up getting that dark area on the cars unless you're only shooting the side of the car: (getting full light from certain angles example
VS. :
def. get some though 'cause there is so much to experiment with, there are soooo many things you can do with them. only thing that's holding me back in the money, otherwise i'd-a had them bitches a loooong time ago lol.
oh and thanks chad for posting pictures all the time with your strobes lolol. yours were easy to find so they got used.

I think they look fine Cam. This coming from a photo nub.
btw I missed your call last night, you still need somethin?
Hell yeah, I want... No I NEED a nice camera, I doubt I can afford strobes right away but it would be nice. But hell that's what credit cards are for lol
those pics look like shit, i could have done better with my kodak disposable.

not bad at all for your 1st attempt with lights. the only things i see wrong are real nit picky shit like in 1 the back wheel and 1/4 panel is a little too dark. in 2 the hood is too dark and in the last one you can see the lights in your taillights.
do different exposures to get every panel lit properly and put the lights higher in the air pointing down so you dont get the reflections of the strobes when they fire.
damn good job for your 1st experience with lights though!
What kind of lcd are you viewing this on? To me it looks fine, any more exposure and it could look blown out on certain monitors. Not everyones monitor will be calibrated or consistent to the original photographers viewpoint. Ive seen photos that look amazing on certain lcds and look like shit in others.
i got my monitor back from samsung yay!
on the 1st shot the rear quarter panel and rear wheel is darker than the front fender and front wheel. i dont think the whole shot needs more exposure....but the back part of the car could use some. again, like i said thats being nit picky lol
alright. updated my first post with a critique whether you wanted it or not lololol.
is the top of the car lacking light for artistic effect?![]()
Pics are always great!
Lmao at the tag.
Good stuff man, wish we had more time or started earlier. I'll see if I have one pic worth sharing.

on the two comparison pics mine was an HDR where as justins was not. a bit different style. Justin is a great photographer aswell and im sure he didnt mean to be demeaning in anyway but like i said it was my first time with strobes.
thanks to everyone for the comments/compliments. there will be much more to come.
Geogre- me and kevin needed some directions last night, almost got lost in ATL looking for this one spot lol.
Shane- id love to snap some more pics of your car whenever you have time.

On a serious note though, it was two strobes, both on stands about 6ft., one pointed about at the headlight and one pointed at the door. No umbrellas or grids
Yeah, but I dont ever bring em anywhere cause its too much damn shit to lug around. For the most part I just use flashes
werd. I need a rolling case of some sort for all the fun gear, its more than one person can carry otherwise! B800s? 2? Vagabond?
