Because on DSMs the alternator is right next to the hot side of the turbo, and with heatshields removed, and an open wastegate right next to it as well, it burns them up QUICKLY. You have to remove your AC and mount the alternator (On DSMs) in the AC compressors place (rear of engine away from all heat) with a special mounting kit that is available.

Oh Ok. Not real familar with DSM's. But that would be a good reason. lol

lol, yea after 7 alternator swaps I said screw it, its going in the back. Didnt have AC to begin with anyways!

Not much.

250whp or so.

Before I put new rods and pistons in it made more power. But now it has smaller injectors and isn't tuned as agressively.

It did make 276whp/302ftlbs.

yea well i took the springs off of my coilovers so i had to custom fab them to fit. i also custom fabbed the tubs for my steering angle. i have double spacers on my tein tie rods. i also had to make room for my vtec(very tall engine cooling system, for those who dont know) took a while but well worth it.
