    seen this bmw yesterday on 85 @ sugarloaf, Is this very common for someone to drive a race car form california to atlanta and have thier wheels and tools in tow?

    my guess is he just moved here and hasn't titled the car. or he shipped it here and is driving it there.. i doubt someone would drive their RACE car cross country to road atlanta. there's plenty of nice tracks out there.

    could be something like the One Lap America series, where you travel from track to track, you race your car, pack your shit up and drive it to the next track.

    BMW event at Road Atlanta this weekend.

    That guy is just one of the guys who is racing.

    H-stock class isn't very modified (engine/drivetrain-wise) so you can bet that car is jsut as reliable as the day it left the factory...but just has a cage, better suspension and stickier tires.

    There use to be a volvo in scca that ran years ago.

    He would drive it to the track, unpack the wife and kids, take out the back seat.

    spank everybody's arse then load up and drive back home.

    It was the worst owning that everybody got, watching him load the wife and kids back in the car.

    The car later became a dedicated race car, still as fast.

    Not exactly "driving across country to race", but when I went out to Colorado a couple months ago, I shipped my slicks to a shop out there because I was attending a track day while out there. I did take 2nd FTOD behind a 400rwhp Miata.
