I just realized that MAT own and prepared the Bentley Continental GT that 4x WRC champion Juha Kankkunen drove to the world record of 200mph on ice.

    Interesting.

    Ok...back to Model A posts.

I like how they restored it to that instead of building a hot rod. You just don't see that route as often any more.

I saw the Bentley randomly in the background of some of the photos but didn't feel like looking into it lol! 200mph on ice would be fun

As much as i like the type R, none of them will be greater than the engine that powered the greatest ever rally car.

    MK II RS1800 Escort.

And in the world of Escort's, the peak is Ari Vatanen's MCD 'Black Beauty'.

im gonna have to disagree, and name the Yb cosworth motor as the best rally motor ford ever created!

For my example, i listed the MKII Escort as the greatest ever rally car.

The BDA engine in BDT form would go on to power the RS200 and the RS1700T.

Gotta remember though, non of the cars made during that era (Sierra/Sapphire/Escort) powered by the Yb were champions in the WRC. The engine was better suited toward touring cars.

That is just what I needed to see today. We've all thought of doing that to Civics or Camaros. But these to "sleeper" another level. Good find, plus reps.
