    Default New vehicle, new project...

Not going to go full into it, but going to make it look different. Needed something that can carry more stuff around, and better on gas/insurance, and got a deal on this. Needs ALOT and I do mean ALOT of lovin!

95 Blazer LS 4x4 Top Package 150,000 miles on it.

Well picked it up none running for a okay price. Already spent a good bit on it and still finding more and more things wrong with it. So today I checked everything to start making a list of what I am going to tackle. Spent a grand total of 2 hours JUST washing and I do mean just washing. This thing doesnt look like it was ever taken care of. From the owner prior to the person I got it from. The owners kid had it, and doesnt look like he was all that smart. Tons of ghetto rigged half ass fixes through out the truck. Dents and dings EVERYWHERE! interior carpets are horrible. so pictures of what I am up to so far.

Washed heavily into the wheel wells, under the hood, and under the truck as far was i could go. The door jams...where bad, I think something lived in them at one point.

The interior left much to be desired. Oil and HEAVY mud stains everywhere. Got a good bit of the mud stains out and the oil I could only lighten up some. Need to really invest into a Heat Extractor, but there kinda expensive.

Well after relentless cleaning, tons and tons of mudd and grime I finally finished. Once under the hood was dry, I dressed it and boy what a difference!

    Door Jams after...

    Interior After...

Then just a general after shot...

Anyways up on the list for stuff to fix next...going to wait before I do "aftermarket" style things to it.... until after I get alot of the small things fixed.

Already removed the pin stripes. And the gay chrome fender well covers, and about 6 stickers on the back.

Before I do a full fledge detail on this thing, which just after cleaning it brought ALOT of shine back to it. A few panels need wet sanding, and buff the whole thing. But before, all the plastic chrome pieces along the trim, all the clear is peeling on ALL of them. Going to strip the rest of the clean off them, and paint the plastic pieces make them look better. Alot of the painted roof rack pieces are peeling going to scuff them up a good bit and paint them as well. Then follow that up with a full detail.

Probably at the same time as I replace the pass. front headlight, going to scuff up the chrome grill piece and paint it. Was planning on swapping it to the 98+ blazer/s10 style front grill, but just going to deal with what I have.

Then from there....one weekend, I cut the exhaust off at the nearest hanger I can find, and put on a muffler/turn down. Then a nice K&N intake...after that...dont know!

Wow, its very hard to find these Blazers even running much less clean. But I know they can take a beating and the 4x4 set up doesn't play lol. Good luck with everything and keep us updated!

Do you take the interior out to clean it? I was doing this for my dad's busniness for almost a year, near the end I said fuck it and just started removing most of the interior... seemed easier.

did it inside the car. Not even going to bother removing it. One of the guys in the car club owns a carpet cleaning business, and I am going to take it to him and have him use some of his stronger carpet chemicals to clean the rear out. oil stains that have set for over a year, are about dam near impossible to remove.

yeah it will be a fun project fixing it up, getting it into its prime again, and doing a very little bit of aftermarket work to it!

I think your going to be unpleasantly surprised by the gas mileage :/ and ROFL on the 4wd comment IFS doesn't hold up to real off road use, just a good save when you need a get me out, but it doesn't sound like rock crawling is in it's future with you. Reps for your progress!

yeah dam sure not rocking crawling! Least its good for if I ever have to take that muddy dirt road to get somewhere! which hopefully never happens. Also for gas, my mustang went 240 miles to a tank on premium, if this thing does slightly better and on unleaded I will be happy!
