    Two teens could face reckless endangerment charges for a car accident at New York City's first municipal airport that landed both young men in the hospital.

    NYPD investigators say the two 18-year-old men were driving at "a high rate of speed" at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. But investigators stopped short of saying that the teens were drag racing.

    Nevertheless, the two cars, both Infinitis, collided and one of the vehicles flipped, cops said.

    One of the men is in critical condition and the other is in serious condition at two area hospitals.

    Drugs and alcohol are not considered a factor.

    The accident happened on a public road at Floyd Bennett Field, which is under control of the National Park Service.

    Floyd Bennett Field holds a hallowed place in aviation history. It is the point of departure for various record breaking flights from Amelia Earhart to Howard Hughes.

    by the way i didnt know IA was full of people that fucking walk on water, im sure everybody here at the age of 18 has done something stupid and most of us are lucky it didnt end up this bad. the kids are 18 years old for fucks sake, at that age nothing can stop you, people make mistakes and do stupid things, doesnt mean they should die because of it.

    i hope they make a full recovery and learn from their mistakes.

    All i can do is laugh at this. Street racing is dumb, that's why i stopped doing it. And the fact that i lost my license once for 6 months cus of it.

    While I tend to agree, you have to be a complete Douchebag to think you are a professional racer, race on the street then the AIRPORT, then FAIL and total both cars and injure yourselves and the passengers.

    Reminds me of the kids killed in the M5 at the airport in Florida.
