LQ9 6.0L
All stock except for an LS6 cam and springs.
I'm excited!
Also, if anyone is selling 98-02 F-Body accessories or an oil pan, I would be greatly interested.

BADASS!!!! classic looks with modern technology....cant beat that.
Dyno2000 estimates 460hp with the cam, intake, and headers. That sounds a little high to me, but I am shooting for 400hp at the crank.Originally Posted by Evil Goat

this is the truck motor right? iirc i've read where a few guys have turboed these motors stock and pulled down very impressive numbers and reliability
Thanks for the comments, guys!
if im not mistaken arent the lq9s verysimilar to an ls2 only its a cast iron bottom block?

Yeah, this is the 10:1cr truck block. I'm planning on L92 heads and a pretty healthy cam down the road. A 4-speed swap may be in the works first depended on how this does at the track. Don't worry though, I've got a pair of turbos waiting on it. Its gonna be carbed at first, just to get it running. Then the EFI will come. And finally, the BOOST!Originally Posted by Evil Goat
They are supposed to be pretty similar. I think the LS2 has more compression and of course the blocks are different. Your buddy's first gen looks sick!Originally Posted by Dwisforme05
I noticed he kept the drive by wire throttle body. I'm sure he's got a whole mess of time tied up in that. How much spray was he running then (and times) and how much boost is he running now (and times)?
on a 125 shot, i believe he ran an 11.6Originally Posted by secondgencamaro

and yes, LOTS of time tied up in that thing. sucker is a beast tho. transmission came out of an s10 and holds up just fine lol
Alrighty then! Those are some pretty good numbers out of a stock motor. Got me pretty excited (though I do outweigh him by at least 600lbs).Originally Posted by Dwisforme05

how is this doing?
Odds and ends are all thats left. Probably less than $500 worth of stuff to actually get it running. Got distracted by my girlfriend's Mustang and also moved out. We put together a mild 302 for it. Should be pulling the front clip Friday to paint the firewall and setting the motor in for the last time. I'm gonna be buying and fixing and EK, then the money from that should finish off getting the thing running and then there is some more stuff I'd like to take car of with the rear-end and suspension before I take it to the track. Not to mention I gotta put insurance back on it.
