So I always say, no press is bad press. You have accomplished the goal of people knowing about your event at the very least. So, lessons learned and next time keep them in mind and y'all should be golden. People will be looking to see how the next one turns out because of the bad response of this one. Not necessarily a bad thing if the next one is what it claims to be from the start.
Know your target.
i have some exciting stuff coming up very soon. I will stay in touch now that I know you can be swayedOriginally Posted by 1SICKLEX

So maybe it wasn't the "Illest of the ATL" However, it was an awesome meet with some awesome cars. I don't know about everyone else involved, but I had a great time. Hopefully all the hating is done. Hats off to Sunny for putting together an freakin sweet meet! Anybody that thinks they can do better, please give it a shot, it will only help the Atlanta car scene.
I can wait for more events like this to come.
Who said to wear a tuxedo? How difficult is it to at least wear something that is acceptable into a club with a dress code, especially when you know you will potentially be on video or in photos? 1,000's of people will see coverage from the event, how does people involved dressing like they just finished cutting the grass or still live with their parents exhibit any sort of class? Is it so bad to be perceived in a professional and mature manner?Originally Posted by The Creeper
For a night event promoting class and higher end cars it should be clubwear or nightclub attire required, "dress to impress" otherwise it's no different than a parking lot meet. Especially when it's being video'd.Originally Posted by KustomBuildz

Pics thread guys, pics thread.
Come on now!
Ok seriously
cars are average
pics are average
event is average
there that's my honest criticism. I've seen better results from a sat afternoon photoshoot
making people log into your personal site to see pics and drive your web site hits up is a little rediculous too.
It's an overpromoted ,underdelivered event
/mikes commentary

So much hatred for the STI and EVO? I think they are very nice cars, I only like eating them up!

Wow, just finished going through the whole thread.
Some work will be put into getting the video together this week. Yeah, our target is to finish something by Thursday but nothing is guaranteed. Don't hold the bar of expectation too high, since it was pretty hard shooting at night. You thought taking pics at night was challenging?
I can understand everyone's comment/opinion. It's considered.

aparently theres alot of ballers on IA! Why are people saying evos and sti are affordable? i wish i could own one lol.
After reading a few posts I already detect too much drama, holler ..
The meet & ride looked like fun, pics are nice too.
Maybe I should borrow my buddy's FGT and throw on some shitty clothes for contrast?Originally Posted by quickdodge®

im not dissin sunny for trying to get everyone to dress on point, just don't see the point of it. if you want to get everyone to feel as a group, as one, maybe he should think of a theme for the event. maybe he needs to tell everyone to wear ninja outfits or cowboy boots or sombrero's lol
I'm talking to everyone when I say:Originally Posted by Vteckidd

Now, if someone doesn't agree with someone's thoughts, don't respond to them, just state your different thoughts of the pics (not of the meet, hence the PICS THREAD).
Adding you opinions on what better shots would look like, will help the media person/group on deciding what kind of shots to take and to post next time an event comes around.
Photography also consists of different types of shooting tastes. Some like wide angle, some like zoomed in shots, some like taking shots of just some parts of the car and that's just the beginning of it.
So if you want to see better photos posted on IA, you should maybe choose your favorite 3 photos, re-post them and just say "My 3 Favorite Shots".
After 11 pages of those kind of responses, the photogs will get an idea of what the people on IA like and try to improve on the shots they decide to take and post for IA.
Well, that was a mouth full.
Thanks.
Gabe
The thoughts expressed here were related to the pics. So please quit with your posts of "peace." No one has been "fighting" for a while yet you keep coming in here beating the dead horse that you kept trying to keep people from beating earlier. I'm sure everyone has seen your posts. So just chill out with all that. Later, QD.Originally Posted by DGPhotoz
For those that continue to talk shit, what did you do to promote the event? Sure I'm jealous I don't have a car that's worthy but at least I invited some that are.
Those who I know with millions would rather be in jeans or shorts and a polo as well BUT they also have the courtesy to respect the requests of those that invited them. They would also have the intelligence to understand that a night cruise with public coverage is not your ordinary parking lot meet or track day.Originally Posted by GGPIS3
Go to the Palm Beach Cavallino Classic, I bet you there will be plenty of people "over-dressed" in the middle of the South Florida heat with even more people wearing shorts and t-shirts. Once the sun goes down and the events become invitation only find me those same people dressed like they've spent the day cleaning out the garage.
I know, I'm just giving some tips on the kind of comments that the person who posts photos would like to hear.Originally Posted by quickdodge®

There were still plenty in the hour before I said that, I don't need to point them out.Originally Posted by quickdodge®
Well glad to see that everyone is calm now. I stepped away from the thread till it cooled down since everything i said was countered.
We learned a lot from this Cruise, there were cons, and there were pros. There are places where we can improve. I am glad to see everyone who came enjoyed it and will be attending future event(s).
I apologize if it seemed like it was going to be exotics only, it wasn't. Poking at it now, going back and forth over it will not change it or add anything to it. Lots of people, I think took it personally, but forgot to realize how much effort, and hard work was put in it by everyone who was part of the team.
Just like people might think their car is special because of effort they put into it, just like that event was special for everyone who put their time and money in it. Human nature to defend.
I honestly hoped to get bit more support from Atlanta scene, but nothing starts smooth and will only make us stronger. We are open to everything, everyone has to say. Just keep it well mannered and to the point.![]()
I was just responding to one of the event organizers comment, and not bashing him or the event. If I pulled into a parking lot, and saw a group of STI owners all dressed "nicely," I would not think of them any classier or their cars more high end to the average joe with a STI. And honestly, if I was going to be doing a lot of driving, in the summer, the most comfortable thing for me to be wearing is a wife beater and some shorts. It is not like you people stopped at a club or something, all you did was drive to various checkpoints. I saw there was a few high end cars that attended, and I was suppose to bring one out that night, but plans didn't go according for me, but in general, These car were not high end. So please stop preaching like you were all out in exotic cars. Either way, the meet looked fun, and I am sorry I missed it.Originally Posted by speedminded
thats all we were saying. Just for what its worth im sure (AND I HAVE SAID THIS IN OTHER THREADS) this was no easy task get going and im sure you made zero dollars doing it. For that ill give you props because you didnt HAVE to do this.Originally Posted by UpSideDownDesi
I will also say, as i have stated multiple times, im sure the people that were there had fun and enjoyed it. One of the girls i know was there and she said she had a good time. I guess thats all that matters.
Just i personally would make sure next time you be careful how you promote/market your event. I think tracy was right, maybe have some smaller events next time that leads into a bigger one.
