i dont know what model it was.. was a boxster sitting at a used car lot. Maybe my expectations of a porsche were too high, but it looked and felt cheap compared to the s2000 i was driving at the time.

You drove a 2.5/2.7 tiptronic, test drive a manual S (3.2), there's a 30-45hp gap between the S, non-S. IIRC some of the later 986 models have glass rear windows.

    It will get even better.

I recently drove a 997 c4 cab, and just had the biggest smile on my face. The sound and the grip were redonkulous.

The car really builds a lot of confidence, feels like its on rails, and just completely hugs the road like a magnet. I've never been so happy with any other car.

I think most German cars are like that, Porsches are by far the scariest..lol. I take it you haven't REALLY pushed it yet.

Scary? Hell you drive a short wheelbase Miata - what could be scarier than that! Ok that's a generalization but you know...

Not anymore. Got rid of the Miata a while back for a Porsche 914, and then have been around the world, now own another E30.

But yeah, Miatas aren't that bad as long as you're real smooth, Porsche's like to become tail happy with no notice lol.

The only P car I've ever driven is a 996 turbo (~2000 415HP). I didnt get to push it but the ride was really awesome and it felt bad ass.

914? Nice car! Yea they're weird but I like em very much. Any plans?

I ended up selling it, I traded the Miata for it, and the motor basically took a crap three days later. Didn't have the time or money to rebuild it as I didn't have a DD.

It was nice though, cleanest 914 I've seen not in a show, no real rust, interior was real clean, etc.

Nice whip bro. What compelled you to get a Porsche? For the same money you could have gotton a Viper or a modified Z06.

I actually ended up with it by surprise, and after taking a seat in it for a spin.... I fell in love. Nothing I've ever owned compares. I think I will forever own a porsche.

I do wish it was a crazy color though, my M3 got far more looks

Congratulations! That's my least favorite bodystyle, but I think the 4S is definitely the one to get if you're not shooting for a GT model just yet. Nice car man.

lulz. Try 4.6 seconds on that 0-60 BUT this 4S is not an '04 or even a '03.
