    Default Batlground: 2JZ 240sx

    Dan just finished tuning a customer car, a JDM 2JZ 240sx from SC. Clean car inside and out. Swap is pretty clean, no crazy wiring or rats nesting in the engine bay. T66 turbo at 19 psi. Customer shut it down there, he was a little nervous, but we could have run it a little higher and made more. Car was very stable and no noise from the knock sensor. I mean it is a 2JZ! Anyways here we go.






    You know we all wanted to see the 500 number, but like I said the customer was really nervous and we weren't going to push him. If he was happy we were happy.

    Wow I love it, not a fan of putting different brand motors in different cars, but this one is nicely done!

    wow thats hot but i dont understand y the customer was nervous when u guys have a 2jz to work with if batlground really wants to 500 out of that 240 show the owner one of the 1000+hp supras with that engine maybe he wont be so nervous lol

    btw do you guys do vdubbs?

    He was using a Link Ecu. Not a bad set up, there are so many different methods of tuning these days!

    We do work on VW's, we actually just got done working on a TT (not a VW but you know what I mean) check out the thread Batlground: 03 Audi TT

    He was nervous because the first time he built it he didn't tune it, and it blew up. So he built the motor this time and was just nervous about pushing it too soon. I was the same way after I got my car running. Even though I knew it top to bottom, I was nervous beating on it for a while.

    Some people never learn huh! lol! I can't believe people that do serious mods, turbo upgrades, etc. and never tune it. *sigh*

    At least he was smart this time. I'd like to know the reasoning behind the hood scoop though...seems like turning it around and putting a vent at the front of the hood would suck the hot air out. Forcing air on top of the engine isn't going to do anything unless it has somewhere to escape!

    Your car isnt a JDM motor, his intake manifold is different than yours, and your have a T04r. When are you gonna get rid of that dinosaur turbo and put a Billet 67 on that pig?


    I think a rough estimate for the complete package is going to be between 9-11 k depending on what your specific set up is. which tranny, clutch, FMIC, engine managment, turbo, ect. there is a whole lot of variables. If you wanted a 6 speed for instance it is going to be even more. Those things are like gold, and there is not really a good and cheap clutch for it.

    Labor is going to vary as well but I think 30-35 hours is pretty safe. Obviously a stock as possible swap is going to be cheaper than any custom one. In that case it could def. be less.

    I know the owner of this car and It should be make more power at 19psi. I have a similar setup on my 2jz s14 using map ecu to tuned by me!!!. It made 530hp at 14 psi and 621hp at 21psi.Here is a vid of my dyno.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fueMPkPzpk Finally Dyno sheets!!!!



    850cc injectors, map ecu 1, BC 264 cams, stock aristo bottom end, precison 68mm turbo with .81a/r housing. walbro intank bosh 044 inline pump. It put down 621whp and 552rwtq. This was all done on 110octane. click here for dyno vid.

    I love how you jump in and act like you know something...its really cute. You have different cams, a different turbo, a different ecu, and you tuned it on 110 octane.....thats not the same

    But it was tuned by HIM. Don't you get it? Not to mention, he knows the owner. That should add like 50 whp right there...by osmosis.

    You also know that 2jz's ARE in fact rocket science. Specially when you put them in a 240. That just changes the whole engine up.

    Obviously you know nothing about this car at all. It has a full stand alone link ecu the same bc 264 cams that I have with a fully built motor. It's not stock by far. The map ecu that i'm running is just a piggy back feeding from the stock ecu. So I think that he should have the advantage b/c I can't adjust timing with my program. Stock supras make over 500whp @19 with cams by the way. So this car is way down on hp. The 110 octane fuel that I used was just for saftey rookie. I put down 580 on pump gas.
