People are going to hate me but I say the wheels look better than the pics.

IA Members POV: Cool pics, bro.
Photographers POV: The photos need major improvement.

Using flashes directly on a car always result in blown out hot spots. At least use soft box's or some sort of diffuser to distribute the light evenly. The photos aren't even showcasing the wheels. Would have been better off setting a long exposure and light painting the car, not only would it look better but there would be 1/10 invested compared to the flashes and stands.

I agree with you. I dont care for the pics much personally. I did this same setup last year trying to learn how to use strobes and I got about 20 inquiries from people wanting the same thing... so I replicated it. IMHO its about what the person wants to see so thats what I gave them. There isnt nearly as much invested as you think being that two of the flashes were borrowed and the stands are only 90 bucks a pair. I did have umbrellas but have personally had a hard time fighting reflection when using them. Light painting is a good idea and I definitely should have used it. Unfortunately both strobes and lightstands were stolen that night. I need practice and I dont deny that. Thanks for the input.
