Default Meanest Ford Falcon i've ever seen.

1962 Ford Falcon. Heres the info on it.

This car is totally professionally built. It has (no) rust at all. Car has been chemically stripped. It has been sectioned 3 inches, chopped 3 inches and widened 4 inches to get the proper suspension underneath and leave the sides completely straight. (No fender bubbles) It has a complete fastback top which is all handmade with a split rear window. The doors, hood and trunk are all made of aluminum. The underside of the hood and trunk are not painted to show that it is aluminum. Because of the 3 inch section the rear tail light was so large that a smaller 1961 Oldsmobile light was used. The paint is flawless.

The chassis is the same as is used in a SCCA Trans am series car. The rear is parallel four link with a watts linkage to center the housing. There is a rear sway bar and coil-over shocks. It has a Gleason locker which is much smoother than a Detroit locker and 4 times as expensive. The rear axle ratio is 3.89. English made Alcon calipers and rotors are used front and rear. The front suspension is all handmade uprights with A-frames, sway bar, and sway bar. Nothing cheap. It has a complete professionally built chassis, with a very intricate roll cage. The wheels are BBS center locks 12 inches up front and 13 inches in the rear. Wheel diameter is 16 inch with B F Goodrich Trans- am rain tires.

The engine is a complete story in itself. It is an extremely rare 1965 Ford 4 cam Indy engine. This is the same engine used by Mario Andretti and A J Foyt to win the Indy 500. No junk parts are used here. It has a new billet stroked crank with a 3in 130 thousands stroke. The rod journals are Honda 1.888. The rods are Carillo with Carr rod bolts. Diamond pistons are used with Chevy wrist pin size. The compression ratio is 8.3 to 1. Special inconell valves have been made because of the turbo which is a Turbonectics GTK 1000. There is a huge intercooler up front with a CO2 sprayer. It has a FAST computerized system which is laptop tunable. The injection is sequential. When these engines were raced with 159 cubic engines they were app 1000 horsepower in 1980. This engine is 276 cubic inches and with a much improved injection system and turbo. Actually I do not know the power because I haven't put it on a chassis dyno. It is either stainless or ceramic coated exhaust depending on where it is at. The transmission is a Tremac TKO 5 speed. It is quite possible it could be the world’s fastest street car, I don't know. The top of the roof is 47 inches tall and very aerodynamic. It is not a cheap car but should be in someone’s showroom. It really draws attention. In December 2008 issue of Popular Hot Rodding it is the featured car with an 8 page story and can be viewed under feature cars at http://www.popularhotrodding.com/fea...con/index.html

    Now the Photos.

Red is the worst color for visibility, ask anyone that does signage for a living.

"'Well, I bought AJ Foyt out, too,' he said matter-of-factly. 'You know that he ended up with all the stuff from the Ford Indy engine program.'"

Ford designed this engine in 1965 and ran it several years at The Brickyard. They did what they wanted with it and won the race several times. Some time after the fact they sold the whole operation to Foyt-for $1!

That was it, Ken mulled. He had to have that stuff. "I bought a block, cylinder heads, all the gears, pumps, and some camshafts. The rest of it I had to make or have made. I got a crankshaft made out of billet 4340 and some $2,700 Carrillo connecting rods with Carr bolts that are $50 apiece. I made an example of the piston I needed and sent it to Diamond ,and they had one that was close. The connecting rods are made out of a material called 300M, very exotic. It's not 4340 or anything like that, but more resembles steel than anything else. Things only weigh 536 grams.

"Aside from being basically one of a kind, one of the reasons I chose to use this engine was the bellhousing. It's from a '631/2 Falcon Sprint that had a 260ci V-8 engine, and the bolt pattern is a perfect match to the Indy block-not a 289, mind you, only the 260. But I had to modify it some to fit the Tremec five-speed. Even with the three-disc clutch, it's amazingly easy to drive around in traffic."

I've always wanted to build a Corvair this exact same style. :boobies:

Anyone notice the bumper was installed upside down to give it a more aggressive look?
