    Default 380whp Turbo M20 Build

Going through some old pics ran across this M20 turbo build. It's a 2.7L 325e block mated to a 2.5L 325i head with a T3/T4 Turbo.

    380 whp
    440 lb-ft torque

Same setup, same car, different block it ran a 11.8 1/4 on 245 street tires skating in 4th gear. :boobies:

Would you mind posting up or pm'ing me the specs?

What manifold? Stand alone? What all was done to mate the block to the head?

I am in the middle of a M20 build and I would love some tips!

It's a simple 327i aka 2.7 stroker, Stock E block and stock I head. The previous block had over 300k miles peaking 25psi before spinning a bearing lol!

This same setup at 12'ish psi will produce about 280whp 335 lbs-ft torque and with a 2.79LSD in an e30 it will pull hard through 4th over 140mph and keep pulling in 5th to 160+.

    Both are megasquirted.

Seems simple. I might do this to mine instead of a swap.

An old build and not my engine or car. I got the same car but a newer engine that will put out the same power at 1/2 the psi

It will be the same HP but just a little bit more torque. If you're ok with a timing belt engine then it's pointless to upgrade to a 24v because it really won't be that much faster for the 1,000's you'd spend. M50/50's are more reliable and can handle more boost.

The E internals are forged iirc. The 2.7 build is what I wanted to do with my e30 when I had it. Nice post.

100% stock. I don't think the ETA crank is forged but I know the 524TD (euro) crank is. Either way, the ETA block is still a beast and as long as it's getting fed oil it's bulletproof.

The main problem with the M20's is they can't breath and they seem to have an asthma attack at the top end. That an timing belts and stock rocker arms tend to break. Minor details, it's still a stout engine!

I think the crank is forged in the Super ETA.
